Maintenance tracking

Hi guys and gals. I searched the forum for this already and didn't see exactly what I was looking for so let me post this question and see if anyone knows of something that I am looking for.

I am looking for a piece of software or web-based maintenance tracking system. I'd like it to be mobile compatible so I can update while away from home, but this is not a deal breaker. What I do need it to do is track maintenance that I have done and be able to upload a picture of a receipt or an invoice. Seems like in this digital age, someone would have made something that can be a full maintenance record. Other things like fuel mileage, etc are nice to have but not necessary. In the end, I just want to have a digital record with the proof that I did it.

Microsoft One-Note. Absolutely brilliant, works on multiple platforms/devices and is stored in the cloud. You can attach images to it right from your phone or computer and share specific notes with others too (the g/f and I use shared notes for bills, groceries, plans etc).

I have a "note" for the mileage for each vehicle
I have a "note" for specific fluids for each vehicle
I have "notes" for lots of other critical reference information not specific to cars.

Absolutely brilliant piece of software.

Would this allow me to attach a file to the note? I'm not familiar with Microsoft one-note. I would like to be able to view a service record and also be able to view the receipt or invoice for that record.

I know you can attach a lot of stuff, Docs, pics etc.. I don't know if there's attachment limitations or restrictions. However, it's free if you have a .live.com account (or outlook.com or hotmail.com)

Give it a try. D/L it on your phone and on your computer. You won't regret it.

I've been having the same problem and have been toying with the idea of making something myself (I am a programmer and web developer).

If there happens to be a UX designer on the forum, I would be interested in teaming up to make something.

I use Google Keep for keeping notes of things I need to remember. One of my notes is the mileage my car was at for the last oil change, filter cleaning, cabin filter replacement and etc. You can attach pictures to notes in Google Keep as well, but I haven't done that so I'm not sure how well it will work for you.

excel. i use it to keep the mods and the price and where I bought it and how much they were. Reality hits when I add up the total of all the stuff I've bought...
Another sheet for maintenance things, mileage, costs of oil, filter, and etc.
Another sheet for whatever else I need to keep track of car related.

There was a really good excel spreadsheet on the m3 forums with the formulas input where items would turn yellow, then red when items were getting close on maintenance items. I'll have to find it and post it here once I update it for the twins

Please do! I just use a word and document the maintenance and mileage.

This is a good one to start your own off of. Update your intervals and items that need to be watched and should be good to go.

I created this excel spreadsheet myself with the primary aim to not be intimidating to potential buyers if the time ever came to sell. My aim was to minimise clutter while still providing comprehensive details on each service to instil confidence in the work completed. I added the main service items and anything that isn't changed regularly goes under miscellaneous. On top of this I also keep receipts and take pictures of me performing each service as well as one picture of the mileage.

Let me know what you guys think

Made my own Excel spreadsheet. You can also utilize software available on some OBDII devices - ones that comes with software. There are also tools that shops use such as Mitchell1 and Alldata that provides this feature as well, however those are tools that will cost you a good pretty penny monthly as it is a subscription service.
