My kit i'm considering selling. I keep getting quoted random high amounts to get this kit painted. I'm not going to spend 3-4k painting this kit.

You could paint an entire house for less than that lol!

Worst case, get the fenders wrapped something complimentary.
Pretty ridiculous. I put the kit up for sale but looking for quotes for paint at the same time.. I found someone for 1200. That is realistic. I'm too scared to hit up those hole in the wall paint shops. Anyone can give me some tips on what to look for for a body shop would help a lot.

paint is expensive and to do it correctly you are painting 75% of the car 3k is not out of line at all that would be my starting point.

I would not consider the kit 75% of the car.

Plus i'm building within my budget. Although 3k would be okay in your book. It inst in mine unfortunately.

fenders doors quarters and depending on color possibly hood and trunk, you are painting down both sides of the car at minimum. sounds like you shoulda done some research before you bought something and are gonna lose money on.

Haha when bought paint for my side skirts and front lip, it ran around 200. That includes adhesion promoter, primer, custom color matched paint, and clearcoat. Then the rubbing compound and polish gear was 65. That's without labor haha. I did it myself so I saved a lot. But if you pay someone you probably don't have to deal with paint sagging or drips, even layers, etc.

Yep. It won't match 100%. I'd say probably like 95% match.
