Wait wtf is that???
It says bellows, I looked up "bellows" and got http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellows

Are those air springs?

EDIT: appears not to be...could someone explain how they "bend"?

They've been using those belleville washers (in conventional steel form) that Old Greg linked to for roll-control on mono-shock front suspension for a little while now.

Maybe because until they started to play with composite ones there wasn't much difference than the already established coils?

(I just posted that up because carbon fiber is awesome...)

This is a pure guess as I haven't worked with these in this application, but I'd say 'coil bind' would be one reason, cost another, and I'm wondering how linear they are?
