Is that GT-R one scaled properly? Because in real life they look HUGE.

GT-R: 183.3 ...so 20" difference. It's pretty against FT86, but if you compare w others Supra (MKIV): 177.7~8 Impreza (GR): 173.8 Camero (5th): 190.4 Mustang (5th): 188.1 Veyron: 175.7 Comparing, I guess GT-R is American size. lol Now you know why GT-R is called Godzilla.

, lens distortion. Lots of car pictures skew the front and rear bumpers because they are near the edges, and are fractionally off. This is why I only use wheel size to start with, and length just to double check.Front wheel comment: yeah, that. And when I visualize sitting in the driver's seat, I kind of get the idea of weight distribution around me. Driver position in the diagram would be cool too, like road and track does I think. |

I will work on the GT-R comparison. I actually had the pleasure to see one GT-R (gun metal color) in person, and saw a Celica (2000-2005 model, similar size with FT-86) at the same parking lot. Unfortunately, they are not parked very closed. But just based on my visual, the GT-R is really big compared with the Celica. Last edited by Want.FR-S; 09-14-2010 at 02:02 AM. Reason: Removed the comment about GT-R looks like a Pondiac Grand Prix. |

roling diameter is found from from the aspect ratio so for eg a 225/40R18 has a aspect ratio of 40% so the wheel height is 2 times 40% of 225mm (since there 2 sidewalls to the diameter) + 18" (but in mm) so (2*90)+457.2 = 637.2mm and measuring across the wheel (ie from front to back rather than up and down) will get rid of the error due to flattening where the tire meets the ground ![]() just a suggestion

Here is the comparison between GT-R and FT-86. My source image of GT-R is from the Nissan Canada web site.
FT86: 163.8 inches GT-R: 183.3 inches Here is the zip file that contains the PSD file with two layers (GT-R and FT-86). You can play around with the transparent ratios to see the differences between these two cars.... ft86_vs_gtr.zip |

Rear: 285/35R20 About 27.85" dia FT/R-86/S: Unknown to me. (likely smaller. A lot. Even the concept. GT-R has 15" brakes. What I'm getting at is the GT-R's wheels are HUGE.) Edit: For comparison, Supras (225/50R16 Mk3 front and rear, 255/40R17 Mk4 Rear)were about 25" dia

give me a few min il look through the photoes cus there are some closeups of the rims
![]() edit LOL talk about a fluke... just looked at the FT-86 wallpaper thread and the last picture in 2nd post looks like this. its from the same group of pictures taken on the same day (im assuming) when the side shot was taken we are using to compare so it will work just fine even if they changed the wheels later. please notice the 225/40 R19 writen on the side wall HAHA i wasnt far of in my guess b4.. but FUCK me thats massive, i thought they wre 18"s at msot as i dont recall reading anything in regards to their size.. i thought that the rims were a lot smaller.. this car just became very similar/close in size to my current one just by looking at the wheels in respect to the car.. this will make a 662.6mm diameter ![]() and looking at the MASSIVE photoes on pg2 of the same thread the size markings on the side wall have been scrubbed of or touched up in photoshop for this photo but you can still read the 225..

So I took it as this:
FT-86: 225/40/R19 ==> 662.6 mm GT-R : 255/40/R20 ==> 688.0 mm (<== incorrect, pointed by Dimman) Now, based on my own judgement on where to see the single pixel of the wheel (this will introduce error since this is not a precise measurement...), here is the revised comparison. (Warning: image was not scaled correctly.) You can see that now the back of the GT-R is within the FT-86 image. I guess this is probably off one or 2 inches... ![]() This is not an exact science....
