So I recently installed the JNA PU front lip I had bought. Somehow I managed to "mark" it up a little ( I wouldn't say scratched because they are not penetrating the surface). Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how to remove them? Any good plastic detailing products you use on your lip? I know sanding and painting is the obvious answer but I would prefer to leave it unpainted.

Got any pictures of the damage? I know many folks in the wood industry that use PU usually sand/wet sand the imperfections out. If the damagevis very mild you may be able to fix it by buffing it with a compound. I'd recommend hand buffing since it is a small and complicated area. PU does not dissipitate internal heat well which is why I'd vote against machine buffing

try gentle heat to the area... that should get rid of the scuff

Heat tends not to work on urethane as it's not a thermoplastic like ABS.

Have you tried something like 303 Aerospace on it?

Paint it with Black Plasti-dip and they hit it with 1-2coats of glossifier. Looks good everytime.

Yea actually just tried the heat gun and no luck. I have not used 303 aerospace nor do I know what it is.

Hmm, looks like minor scuffing. You could try a back to black product but it might not help you in the long term. Here are some options that have worked for me in the past since I'm not sure you'll be willing to sand it. You can use a paint polish with a scrub pad such as those by Stay Fresh. You can also try to find a special plastic polish, though I honestly couldn't recommend any due to lack of use. Metal polish has also worked for me in the past on plastic as it does not remove the luster from PU. A weird one that has worked is, Toothpaste. It can't be the one in gel form however. Apply it with any fine woven cloth and it should take care of it. Let me know if you need any more ideas

Peanut Butter (not the crunchy kind!)

Yes, it works, no idea why. But yeah, it depends on exactly what is on the surface on what might work.

Peanut butter is great for stained trim from wax/polish. I believe it is the actual oil in the peanut that helps break down the stains. Olive oil will also work. Not sure if this is a stain rather than a scuff. If it is a stain, it will be much simpler to remove

Yea it's definitely a scuff and not a stain. Anymore ideas?
