I told ya why I like this material. After my road kill incident, and hitting driveways and curbs on purpose, it's a solid material. Scrapes away when it needs to, flexes or stays rigid when it needs to.
I thought about using aluminum or a plexi, but not gonna happen after I've been torture testing this stuff.

Carbon won't be as durable. Carbon splitters on race cars, have Jabroc replaceable pieces on the underside, because they scrape and wear away. Carbon, when hit, shatters, and doesn't break nice, or wear well. You'd want a kevlar, or carbon/kevlar weave to keep it together after an impact.

I've hit triple digits multiple times at track events and it's been ok but it's definitely worth to upgrade to race version I think ..
Below is my post from my "Functional aero" thread Quote:

We will never stop improving the products we create and are always on the hunt for a better material. The main issue is cost as we want to keep this as an affordable option for nearly everyone, that can then be replaced when/if needed without hurting your wallet.

My friend had a carbon splitter on his r32 attached without any ties to actual structure, we warned him against it multiple times. then doing about 250kph i saw a cloud a mist come out the back of his car, us in the the car behind thouhgt it was an oil line or maybe a charge pipe. when we flagged him to pull over we found out it was his splitter. That thing just dissapeared.

Hey its no problem, don't mind being the guinea pig lol. The way I see it, it was bound to happen to someone eventually. Did I mention I miss it... car doesn't look the same/right without it, and the steering feel is all wrong again. Can definitely feel the shift of aero balance rearward (driveway labs type 1) since the splitter is off for now.

I just received the splitter today (the etching looks great BTW). I don't see these eight washers that go into the ten rivets. The kit included maybe 14 washers but these don't fit in the rivets. Or have I misunderstood something? I'm assuming the washers will go between the "x" of the rivet and the plastic bumper (on the inside). Also planning on waiting for the splitter ties before I install this. |

I sent these to ft86sf, I'm guessing he started sending out the splitters before he received this package. I'll talk to Jeremy and ask him to forward those bags.
