I've found many apps that aren't in the play store for this unit. I've got Market Helper installed, and that works. The other thing I'm using is APK Share on my HTC One. I just download the app I want on my phone, then share the apk file to Dropbox and download it that way. Multiple steps, but they are fairly simple. I installed the PowerAmp Trial that way.

Hey guys, been a while since I've posted... Just wanted to give you an update, I've been testing out V6 Supercharger tweaks for about a week now.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276

It seems to have made the unit a bit smoother. I especially noticed that there is now no lag in some areas where there were slight delays before. For example I had a slight delay(1 second at most?) before when changing the volume. It now responds instantly to both the volume knob and my SWC.

When the unit attempts to close one app and open another it is quicker, for example radio to pandora.

I used to have Pandora crash after about 20-30mins. After adding Pandora as a bulletproof app in the tweaks it no longer seems to be crashing.

This one I'm not so sure about but... I was using the highest quality setting in Viper4android. Some sounds were a bit distorted, not by a lot but a little. After V6 tweaks it sounds perfect now. Anyone know if it's possible that memory tweaks would allow the Viper driver to run more smoothly and stop distortion?

Yeah, I used the same one that Silverlightpony linked to, which was also mentioned much earlier in this thread.

Got the poweramp trial installed. First impressions not good. The one thing any music player of mine needs to have is excellent playlist support; poweramp purports to fully support M3U playlists, but it seems to prefer its own playlists, and while my M3U lists did show up, almost all of them were missing multiple tracks. Of note, one list thatactually had 103 tracks in it only shows as having 28 in poweramp.

The same playlist files work perfectly in Rocket Player.

Does this use the built in bluetooth microphone from the stock head unit or is one included with it?

I really dont want to have a crappy looking microphone on my steering column

Neither; it has one built into the body of the unit (as far as I can tell).

The factory wired microphone is not used. The microphone it's actually on the front of the unit and works fine for me

Root and Viper4android

I was dragging my feet about rooting my unit all these days, coz I wasnt convinced that all that trouble was worth the difference viper was going to make.

Anyway this morning I gave it a go, and boy did viper make a difference! The unit sounds sooo much better now - more clean bass. Highly recommended!!

Thanks to all the root/viper pioneers!!

I installed busybox and script manager.
Script manager would force close so I had to install Rom toolbox, go to app manager, and fix permissions on script manager. That seemed to fix it as it runs correctly now.

I did the 1000HP settings as recommended by the script and basically all of the options.

Here is a good little tutorial:

The only things i didn't do yet are Nitro Lag Nullifier and the Jelly ISCream Mod (services.jar mod) because I was too lazy. I might do that today.
