Has anybody test fitted a 18x10 +45 with 285/30/18??? Perfect tire diameter, same as stock. It was we use as a track setup no FD3S RX7's and is just amazing for steering response and crazy front grip. I think this setup would work. Sadly our FRS is widebody so I have no way to test fit this now.
Wheel companies like Forgestar can produce this sizing for our cars and is pretty affordable as well. I'm really curious if anyone has pushed the boundaries of the stock metal with coilovers. |

however unless you're making a lot of power a 285 will do more harm than good. i really dont think you need THAT big a tire unless all you do is track the thing, on the street that would be miserable IMO |

However, if boosted that would be a nice setup imo. Not good for street but track or autox, yummy. |

I am ready to join the meaty tire group.
255/35R18 DW. I planed to go 255 PSS, but they are out of stock in all websites and stores including tirerack and discount tire. Back order gonna take a month. I cant wait any more cuz Iv already wait for my rims for 3 months. My TE37SL will be delivered on Monday. I will take them with tires to a local tire shop to do the installation and rotation. Then I will go to AZP Install next Sat. to do an alignment in order to fit these new wheels. .

I'm FINALLY a full-fledged Meaty Tire Thread participant. I dabbled earlier but couldn't keep the last set of wheels. So here it is:
18x8.5F/18x9.5R "Semi-Staggered" with 255/35-18F and 265/35-18R. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Full wheel and tire thread here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68574 Interesting note: Looking at the sizing calculators out there, I should be able to fit 275/35-18s in the rear with this offset. Only a slight massaging of the e-brake cable brackets may be needed. Outside rubbing would be the same as a 265/35 on a 18x.95+38. |
