Well... Just found out that teaser is evidence of my fail. Seems I happened to pick the one RPF1 that doesn't clear brembos.. *sigh*

Specs on the RPF1's for those that are curious? I hate those wheels, but it would be nice to go into the Wheel Directory for the thread for them and let others know they don't clear Brembos. Thanks!

They are 18x9.5+38. Spacers would work, but the 265s I have on them just barely fit as-is. So no-go.

That makes TWO sets of wheels I have to sell.

Shoot man! The straight spokes is what makes it so hard, I heard the 8 and 8.5's clear because of the curved spokes. The yellow calliper with yellow decal looks amazing.

I think I've come up with a good alternative. We'll see if I can get the wheels I want in a quick enough timeframe.

I thought I'd let everyone know that Rota Titan 17x8 +42 does NOT clear the front calipers...not even with a 3mm wheel spacer. Will be trying with a 5mm spacer tomorrow to see if that works.

Update: I can confirm that 5mm spacer definitely clears the calipers with these wheels.

You'll be fine with the 25mm spacers on stocks. I run a similar setup (20mm front/25mm rear) whenever I need to do servicing and don't want to damage my 18's.

Try Amazon or KNS Brakes. You might get lucky if they have them in stock.

Better idea....sell the rear brembos and use the smaller Subaru rear 2 pot instead. Smaller rotor BUT more brake torque and better bias.

I don't actually know if that caliper will clear your spokes to be honest, I just think it's the better way to go...

It's the fronts that don't clear. The rears are fine.

Though my previous set, the TC105n in 17x8+42 clear. So I'm on those until I can get a new set of wheels.

Ok I've found something interesting which I thought I'd share. Firstly, the caliper mounting bolts should include washers, as shown here:

Secondly, there are actually 2 different lengths for the front caliper mounting bolts....M12x37mm (#901120103) and M12x54mm (#901120131).

The shorter 37mm bolts came on all STI models EXCEPT the 2005 model which included a "tie-rod" on the back of the calipers. This required the use of longer 54mm bolts. Some pics here: GDBE—pƒ^ƒCƒo�[‚Ì—¬—p

From what I could gather, Subaru found some issues with the front caliper mountings, and sought to remedy the issue by fitting a brace / tie-rod. Then for 06+ models onwards the tie-rod was no longer required because they had strengthened the actual hub carrier itself.

I've now got a question about the banjo bolt. Did you use the bolts that were supplied with the stainless steel brake line kit? Or did you re-use the OEM banjo bolt that came with the caliper?

I ask because I've read a couple of "DIY" threads on IWSTI and in both cases they mentioned to re-use the stock banjo bolt from the caliper.

I'll be using Stoptech SS brake line (for FRS/BRZ).

So, I have 2005 brembos. Do I need to buy that tie bar to install it in my car? Please god no....I am so f***** tired of running into issues like this (like, not knowing I would need different bolts to mount these things, and no one shipping to Canada for less than 60 dollars... for 4 bolts...)

No don't worry you don't need the longer bolts. The front caliper itself is same as other years, so short bolts work just fine.
