@DeliciousTuning:
Do you offer an install of your rom-tunes to local customers with just the purchase of your rom-tune & the license without needing us to buy a cable? ie: can you install it with your own cable and laptop? (if not, then I guess I can just rent the cable..which isn't a problem since it's conveniently available for rent nowadays). Also, same question, but with a custom-fine-tune, on top of your available rom-tune maps, for the specific/exact mods done to my car? (eg: let's say I bought/wanted the new 200whp 91oct tune from you ..but I don't have the recommended full header back exhaust; and only have a drop in filter, catted uel header and crawford bpb intake blocks...can you fine-tune on top of, and over, your 200whp 91oct tune/map for those exact/fewer mods..without the purchase of the cable?) ...for a fine-tune or custom map, on top of the already done plug-n-play "200whp 91oct" tune map", I assume I would have to make an appointment and drop off my car for an in-person dyno tuning session correct? Would this extra in-person "fine-tune" over the current plug-n-play "200whp 91oct" map be able to be done in 1 day or in a couple hours? ...or would it take longer, several days/weeks, and would you suggest for me to purchase the cable for remote tuning (since it would take longer than a day/a few hours)? I can easily see this as being the single best, most dollar-for-dollar (or, dollar-for-whp), best bang for the buck, modification ....much more-so than the other current Top best-bang-for-the-buck hp mods - an aftermarket header (about 15whp for $950) or the crawford bpb (about 9whp for $400)Dollar per Whp: Header = $68/whp Bpb = $44/whp DT 200whp tune, +30-40whp (w/out cable $600) = $15-20/whp DT 200whp tune, +30-40whp (w/ cable $900) = $22-30/whp . Bill had 2 BRZ and 1 FRS on the dyno yesterday for tuning. The final car of the day was this one. It is N/A. Stock intake, Borla headers, custom cams, 98oct Race Gas and it made what would be over 205whp on a Dyno Jet (170's on my Mustang) Why? Because Race Car.

Yes. 1 more week.
We made a slight change to the intake on the race car this morning. gained another 5-7 whp. Trying to make over 200whp on my Mustang with this pure N/A car. We are going to try some different headers next. |

over 200 whp on a dynojet? Is your mustang not running the updated software? or did you just choose not to run it.
I know there was a software update that changed it to read in line with a dynojet. Just asking, because my buddy's shop used to have a mustang dyno and after the update it stopped reading bolt-on k20's at only 195-200 whp, and read them around 220 like a dynojet would. |

Cams are custom.
Our dyno runs the "latest and greatest" from Mustang. We can emulate a Dyno Jet, but why? The dynos read power very differently. A Dyno Jet measures a cars ability to move a known weight. A Mustang measures the amount of load the car puts on the dyno, then factors in aerodynamic resistance of the car. While load dynos might be known as heart breakers, I prefer to see the "real world" numbers over a higher reading number. It warms my heart to hear folks at the track bragging about their power numbers to find out they just lost to a car making far less power (per dyno numbers). Our Mustang dyno reads 20% lower then the local Dyno Jet. Just fitted a new Air Raid intake to the race car today and we will retest again. I also have a new set of PPE headers arriving this week and we know we can make more power with those then with the current Borlas. Shooting for 195-200whp on my Mustang. |

loaded by the eddy current brake sae correction I know how mustang dynos work, like i said my buddy's shop used to have one. It's not about the number's it's about being able to put out a real world load on the vehicle that is very similar to the street. a dynojet is just simply an inertia dyno, measures how it moves that 3000 lb drum. I know, i don't like dynojets at all, they're shit for actually tuning a vehicle. I was simply asking a question at any rate. |

Just trying to give a basic explanation for those reading the posts who dont have the insight already.
I own a Mustang because I wanted a Mustang, not a Dyno Jet. As we grow we might pick up a Dyno Jet (just for the numbers they give as that is what most companies use to advertise). But all tuning would still be done on the Mustang. Rather than emulate, when we have needed Dyno Jet numbers (to show the higher numbers for people who dont want to get into the comparison debate) we rent time on a local Dyno Jet (like the vid in post 1). Made 177 today with the race car (and new "custom" Air raid intake). It is almost 81 deg today too. Next up is the PPE headers (and hopefully some colder air). Still shooting for 195+. |
