WoW, I wasn't offended by your choice of words at all. In fact I liked it. Kinda like a degree of accomplishment putting all the repetitive threads together. It was great.

i have a different perspective on the moderator thing than what's been stated, but that's for another thread another time, or not.
anyways- whether or not the GC pulls similar numbers it's still heavy and as a consequence less fun. plus, i can't fit in it, so there.

Why U delete my snarky mean posts??? Heh, fartsakes... On topic: With the original GenCoupe there were suspension geometry concerns about aftermarket lowering removing most of the car's bump travel and decreasing dynamic camber. Have any tuning companies had a look underneath to see of this has been improved on the 2nd gen?

The 2.0T is lighter, has better weight distribution and also has less weight hanging out over the front of the car compared to the 3.8 GC. That was why I was asking. |

Seriously, when will these Hyundai fanboys just take the hint. If we are interested in the Gen coupe, we'll drive it and make our choice. We don't need you to tell US how to spend OUR money. Offer something constructive or piss off... |

So why are you here then? You realize this is a FRS/GT86/BRZ forum right?

In fact, this can be summarized by Brian Beckman from No Buck Racing Club: The effects of weight transfer are proportional to the height of the CG off the ground. A flatter car, one with a lower CG, handles better and quicker because weight transfer is not so drastic as it is in a high car. Quote:

lonewolf ..lets just drop it..i think its ok for people to come on here and debate. Some are going to love it some wont..regardless we wont turn people away.
I know a few Honda devout guys that went to the Nissan camp soly because that particular nissan community was more welcoming. Not because either cars were superior over the other. Despite our differences in taste and opinions I think we should still try to respect those people ...especially the Genesis community members who disprove of the FRS/BRZ. As long as they remain respectful to us. We have plenty of high HP power RWD and AWD guys in this forum excited for this car, which says something about this car that cant be quantifiable.

I just got back from driving a new 2013 3.8 Track model Genesis Coupe.
A few random thoughts: 1) The car looks far better in person than it does in pictures. The car I drove was red and red looks amazing on it. They had a white Genesis Coupe at the dealership as well (which was the color I thought I might want to buy if I go that route), but the red looked better to me at least. 2) Performance wise, it was no slouch. The car only had 20 miles on it when I left the lot, and because of this, I didn't want to over rev the car, but I did run up to the 5000-6000 rpm range. Jumping onto the interstate on ramp, I got up to 100 mph as I merged and it got there really quickly. Seems as fast in a straight line as my NSX. 3) Handling and stopping was great, as one might imagine with a Track model with Brembo brakes, 19" wheels and 140 treadwear Bridgestone RE050 tires. Those tires will sure cost some big $$$ to replace (in probably less than 8000 miles). 4) The interior was very nice...far nicer than the interior in the BRZ I looked at (through the window) last week (at the stupid dealership who invited me to test drive it and wouldn't even let me sit in the car and wouldn't even open the door for me to look in). Overall, the Genesis Coupe is a pretty darn good car. The car I drove did sticker for $34k, so if I happen to choose this car over the BRZ, I'd most likely go with a 2.0T R-Spec which still has the 19" wheels and Brembo brakes, but only cost about $27k. |
