+1 I definitely prefer a longer top gear for the highway. My car isn't going to live on a race track, so having every day driving efficiencies is very much appreciated.

We need to push MFactory or another distributor to offer performance package that includes

4.4+ rear end
longer 6th

That would be my ideal. Aren't there design considerations with overdrive in regards to stress on the motor? Maybe the cam is actually more fuel efficient in that range.

Man, that rubber is screaming in nearly every event of that video. Some nice low tread wear is going to make a lot of smiles.

Understandable, however I don't think it's the 6th gear that's the problem, rather the final drive/diff ratio that's causing it...which effects every gear.
4.1 rear diff is par for the course for a car like this, the RX8 has a crazy short rear diff too (high 4's IIRC).

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the auto and manual both had the same rear diff and it was just the gearing that was different? 6th on the MT is like the 5th on the AT.

With extended mods I see this car getting top speed of > 240 km/h and accelerating 0-100 km/h under 6 sec and reaching > 1.0 g on the skid pad.

Then I noticed the front plate, then I facepalmed myself.

With all of these reviews, price announcements and release dates I'm getting anxious.

Although I think I've settled on the FRS, just due to valve. But I'll have to see them both in person first!!!!!!1111! ARRGGggg.

Great reviews. I am definatly going with the BRZ if the price is where these guys are putting it. Now I just need to decide on a color lol.

specs are specs... we are here because we want it... and most of us aren't keeping it stock for long...

anyone else notice that most of the reviews say April instead of May now? I can only hope.... I just want one less question answered otherwise this car is still a "unicorn"

Pretty much confirms my expectation of 0.9 on the skidpad with 'prius' tires.

Ya good point...if the diff is the same on both, then the auto must be geared differently. I agree, a short 6th gear is pointless. At least it's not like the SI where you have to drop 2 gears to pass someone lol.

Great reviews, confirming everything that I want this car to be. The driver involvement is the best for any car on the market under 40 grand, rivaling the Evo.

Steering feel is the best electrically assisted steering on the market

I could care less about 0-60 times. You guys are arguing about a couple tenths on what is not even the point of this car.
