You drive it lightly, not getting the turbo involved much and it returns good mileage (or whatever its rated at) Once you get those turbo's spooling gas mileage just takes a huge dump. Since once you get those turbos involved, you're force feeding air into the cylinder chamber and the computer needs to adjust for the proper fuel/air ratio mixture for ideal combustion. Its like VTAK and my VVTLi lift system. I hit the cam change (at high revs), get a power boost but my gas mileage goes down the shitter accordingly. |

If it releases as a dealer option or from factory, I would consider turbo -> because warranty
If not, then buy a used car <10k miles

No interest in turbo
Would not want this car to have a turbo. Would love to see a 250hp N/A version. I think it's not going to be too hard to get it there with some aftermarket help.
If I wanted a turbo I would have just gotten an STI. Still might do that as well. (dont tell the Mrs.) But for my daily driver this little N/A coupe is just the ticket. |

Would trade up if it's enticing and not outrageously priced, and doesn't come with a massive spoiler. I'm not into doing too many engine mods, so a nice bump in power from the factory would be cool. But I'm sure I'll also be happy with it as-is.

For this type of car, I do not want a turbo. A turbo means less responsiveness, less reliability, more maintenance, and more weight. Don't get me wrong, I love turbos - I have one in my Eclipse but I recently had to replace it because it went out at 120k which took 2 months to get from Japan and cost me 2500 dollars. With this car, I want simplicity, reliability, and responsiveness.

This looks like a good place to quote a post I made when Subaru started taking pre-orders at the beginning of this month.
