[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLCZl5qXP64"]Subaru BRZ at Atlanta Motorsports Park with Hooked on Driving 3/14/14 - YouTube[/ame]

Longer solo session in group X earlier in the morning with cooler temperatures and no P0351.

Got into a short tussle with a Cayman R and then a 400hp Golf R34 before they black flagged everyone.

Was able to push the car pretty hard and have some good fun!

I remember you asking about this; here's my writeup from the caliper rebuild. Fun and easy job:

Upon removal of your existing caliper seals, did you notice any signs of heat related damage or wear?

Nope, none. And the inner caliper seal is THICK and very tough; not as soft as I thought it would be, so I don't think you have to worry about dirt and debris damaging it if your dust boots shred as much.

Cool, that's good to know. My dust boots still look pretty good but I've been curious about the inner seals. I may rebuild mine at the end of the year if I don't decide to pull the trigger on a BBK by then.

Is it just the one bolt that holds it in? Still thinking about putting a small heat shield around it?

Yes but I went ahead and replaced it. I thought about getting some gold heat tape and putting some on the top part of the coil that is exposed but I don't have any and it would take a few days to order and ship, and I wanted to fix the P0351 as soon as possible.

Only one 10mm bolt holding it in. I just replaced it myself rather easily in about 20 minutes. Removed the three 10mm bolts holding in the ECU on the black fuel rail cover carefully after stuffing some shop towels below to catch any dropped bolts. Zip tied the box out of the way on the strut brace so it doesn't slide into anything. Then I grabbed the coil and pulled it straight out and then up to get the whole thing out. Pressed the connector down and pulled it off and the new one went back in just as easily. Just need patience and dexterity and it's pretty painless. The drivers side coils wouldn't be as easy, though, since there's more stuff in the way.

I'll go for a drive later and report back.

Make sure you place the ECU back before you drive it. It actually grounds itself with the three 10mm bolts, so don't leave it zip tied out of the way.

Yep I put everything back the way it was and secured all the bolts before running it again.

Just went for a drive and got everything nice and hot before doing a couple WOT pulls to redline and all is well. No more CEL.

Nice driving in that video with the Cayman R. Your car looks gorgeous and is a perfect blend of form and very practical mods (function). It is a great template for those of us looking for a fun track day car that we can also drive to work.

Well done! :-)

What was the issue you were having with the old coil? What CEL code were you getting?
