I'm sure you could definitely take a heat gun to undo that black silicone, do whatever work you need to do and then use the heat gun again to re seal it, I just didn't think about that at the time. Either way it will work.

You can pull it off without a heat gun. In fact, using a heat gun will just make it a terrible mess.

But yeah, I'm not going to comment on the lights in the door speaker grill since it's not my cup of tea.

Can you connect this controller to Acc
so every time you switch the ignition the leds will go on with the rest of the lights ?
OR
do you have to use the remote every time ?

You're correct sir. It would be much better for others who try this to not cut the plastic.

If you simply pull the plastic a little so the black "tar" starts to stretch you can cut it apart with a razor blade and when you are done it sticks right back to itself with no need for a heat gun at all.

and better yet.. you could have just tapped into one of those wires for power instead of running the wires for power source back ..
