If you pre-ordered there shouldn't be any negotiation. With a group buy it should all be sorted out already, so you wouldn't have to negotiate.

But lets say you're buying it off the lot.

This is a brand new car with high demand, and I'll doubt you'll be able to negotiate with them, but you're asking about the WRX and accord so I'll explain it.

Since most subaru dealers want to sell WRXs/Imprezas (I believe that's their golden car too) the price negotiation for them isn't as easy as an accord. You'll go back and forth with a dealer until someone gives in. Normally its the buyer since new buyers are generally unsure and pressured into getting the car by the dealer.

Its just like negotiating for any new car. Do your research first by phone and e-mail and then go to the dealership. Talk with DIFFERENT dealers on the phone by checking the website and pit them against each other.

Oh and you have to be firm, assertive and have an unmoving stand on your decisions.

thanks thats very helpful.

I don't really want to be an early adopter who later finds out that the car is being sold 2k less in just few months. That buyer's remorse feeling is really sux.

Waiting it out might seem like a good idea. :>

Just to clarify:

The group buy is still on, just not with Puente Hills Subaru. And not for invoice+$300.

Group Buy is now with Irvine Subaru, getting the car at MSRP.

MSRP is still good though. So what's the chances that this MSRP will be the same MSRP amount 3-4 months from now?

So any updates? Price, release date, etc.? Also, I'd like to know if the 11 of us will get our cars on the same day ("we're getting 35 cars, says Rich")?
