Agree with you completely. I think they have seriously thought about the aero on these cars. The z06 aero looks like the c7R. For a road car that's something. Tire technology has also come leaps and bounds with road cars coming with near slicks. To think that the little ford hatchbacks have a .90 + skid with ok tires. Yeah and to take that to the extreme, Formula 1 cars have a power-to-weight ratio of around 2.00 lbs/hp, and they're able to manage with RWD using lots of aero, sticky/wide tires, and some very advanced TC systems. Also rear-biased weight distribution.

Looking back at your previous post, I can't believe that the Z06 is gonna have better power to weight ratio than the F12. Good god . Are they going to offer it in a manual this time? Sidenote : are you sure its gonna be 3300 lbs?

Supposed to be offered with a 7 spd manual or 8 spd auto.

I've seen reports that the curb weight is supposed to be around 3300 lbs. The C5 and C6 Z06's were ~100 lbs lighter than the base models, so if that continues, the C7 Z06 should be right around 3300-3350 lbs.

I don't know about that. The C5Z and C6Zs both had motors that weighed within 10 lbs of the base motors. The C7Z has probably another 100lbs of blower, plumbing, and heat exchanger over the nose. Also, heavier wheels and tires. I'd look at the difference between a base C6 (3208) and a ZR1 (3333) to try and figure out where the C7Z is going to come in weight wise.

Ah right of course, good point on the blower adding weight. So if the weight difference between the C6 and ZR1 is +125 lbs, are folks predicting the C7Z will weigh in at 3,444 (c7 stingray) + 125 lbs, or 3569 lbs? That seems pretty high for a Z06 model, although maybe this is the new norm with the blower on the Z now.

I think weight distribution comes into play too.

F12: 47/53 weight distribution, 2122 lbs over the rear wheels
Z06: 49/51 weight distribution, 1683 lbs over the rear wheels

So not only does the Z06 have a better power-to-weight ratio, but it has less weight over the rear wheels.

But it is a good point to bring up the F12 because I haven't seen any reviews mentioning an inability to put power to the ground.

At Ferrari there are discussions about AWD for the F12 replacement, if I'm not confusing something, the F12 had AWD prototypes. Again it depends on the engine, it is always easier to put NA power to the ground than FI power. What is unknown is what engine will Ferrari get later, I heard small displacement turbocharged V12 are coming, like 5.7 L.
