I am a mazdaspeed guy, I'm already here.

A hatch would be awesome though, in terms of having a practical fun car.

Not sure I'd pick an FRS vert over a miata, since this car wasn't designed as a vert first, and thus would be even more heavy than the elemental miata.

am i the only one that thinks rear seats ruin a roadster's looks? 2 seat roadsters look much better, but not practical enough for me. i miss my s2k, but i don't miss the lack of rear seats, lack of any kind of luggage space, or the factory defect that puts tears in the softop that honda wouldn't pay to fix.

For me it is a bad news. It is just because the MX-5 and the S2000 are roadsters I am not interested to own any. Gald Porsche has the Cayman and not only the Boxster, unlike BMW that has only a Z4 Roadster.

the hatch is actually a good idea too... what other hatchback cars are rear-drive in this price range? i cant think of any.... WRX is AWD, Mazda hatches are FWD...

Panoramic roof

panoramic roof. Convertible only if it has easy hard top convert like the Miata!

If they don't release a targa package by the last year of the first gen, I'll make sure I do a diy.

I never wanted a convertible and if I did I would most likely buy another S2000.

The convertible folded would either take up the back seats, or severely reduce the trunk space.

The draw for the FRS/BRZ for me is the semblance of practicality.

But I can see this car being very popular if marketed right.
