I've been talking to a few dealers now and the impression I've got is:
G = $40k GT = $43-45K GTS = $45-$48K *Price is including ORC. I guess we'll know for sure in a few months time. |

Its Drive away price, but that's his guess from what he sees. He said anything could change at the last minute. He did a quick estimate calculation like for example
Sale price = $39,990 + Dealer Charge=$1895 Which is the Total price before Reg (inc GST) = $41,885 + Stamp duty = $1,257 + Plates = $60 + Private Rego = $360 + CTP= $488 so total will be about 43,050 it varies obviously for different state and age(I think). Above calculation is for NSW |

Its a pretty fair statement to say anything over 35-40k and most will just buy something else unless they want the 86 simply for saying they have/had 1.
At the market and projected use this car is aimed at many cars come to mind that would offer the same enjoyment and with 40k one would obviously get far more enjoyment then what this 86 would offer for the same money. Imagine an original 86 with 40k worth of work. Even 40k on a Evo 7-8-9 woud be more likely a more enjoyable experience. Any Nissan Silvia or rwd car are potentially in the same league. Horses for courses i guess. |

Everyone has an opinion and they are all right.
I think the low production numbers will see every car find a home. Those that cannot justify it, will buy something else and be happy. Those that do justify it, will buy/order/wait and be happy too. It's not gonna be like a corolla or camry where you will see one at every set of traffic lights! |

according to the "internal material", Toyota Aus's target market is aged 35-49, white collar with around $150k of household income. this is far from what Toyota Japan was proposing.
