Quick question??? If the SATX86Club folks organize another nite time flash mob photo shoot at the Quarry would any ATX86Club ppls be up for joining up with us say sometime late January / February time slot? It was pretty fun last year and a lot of us went out to eat afterwards. If there is enough interest to get a couple of dozen or so takers...and we can line up a good photographer...we'll begin to make some plans.

http://ricepuddin.smugmug.com/Other/SATX-86-Photoshoot

Also, we are planning a Twisted Sisters run either 18 January or 25 January depending on weather conditions. We'll shoot for the 18th and if it is wet or icy we'll postpone to the 25th. As in the past, we'll all meet up at the Apple Store in Medina, TX @ 9:00 AM. More info to follow as we get closer to mid-January.

ATX - You guys and gals are always welcome to join us for a 3SIST3RS run if you can!

Thanks Extreme.
I'm in for both if the January schedule cooperates.

Joined the group just now. 99% of the time on weekends, you'll see me at Gourdough's, Ramen Tatsuya, Hopdoddy's, or Pterrys.

I have to get on the yahoo group already, just slacking too much due to holiday junk. I will say I am totally enjoying "winter" down here. Not missing Chicago at all.

Hahaha i'd imagine your brz is happy to be here than in Chicago for winter. Hows everyone's 86' holding up to the lower temperatures BTW? Mine doesn't like second to much on the cold mornings but other than that its all good!

Get mud flaps, we like to use sand for <40F temps.

I joined the yahoo groups somehow.. I know some people are against facebook, but yahoo groups seems a bit archaic. Well, I could say that about yahoo in general. Facebook is a great option for groups because people use facebook all the time anyways.. easiest way to organize something.

The message threading system kind of sucks on yahoo groups too. I guess I hate too much on yahoo.

That being said I've got a couple of servers that I could throw some forums on to, if you guys would rather have some forums. I dunno if that is the best solution but I think better solutions exist. Definitely interested in something like this though.

That would be nice. Living in Austin, being able to hit DF/W, San Antonio, and Houston with for sale items would be great.

I agree that texas needs its own region. Most other forums I've seen had this... you can't give california 2 regions and give us a sixth of one.

Maybe we should just contact the admin of the site and see if we can get our own Texas region? I think it would be hugely beneficial. It's not like we are in the north east, where a 6 hour drive east takes me across 3 states. We are too far away to benefit interaction with memebers from utah, new mexico, arizona, etc.

@ichitaka05 is there any reason why we can't make this happen?

First, prob other forum you've been have been around long enough to have bigger members, but 86 is new & don't have enough members.

Too far to interact w other state members? Of course! If that's the case, AZ, NV, UT & all other states get their own section too.

What bout Cali? Why they have 2 separate sections? Here are few reasons. Cali is freaking BIG w so many big cities w so many activities every week. To go to all the events in Cali, you need to drive roughly 4~6 hrs (depents on the area you live).

Without a doubt, AZ is the busy/active thread in Southwest region, posting over 2~4 times more than other Southwest states threads. They have their own sections makes more sense to me.

If you want to make WTB/FS thread & want me to sticky it, I'm more than welcome to sticky it for ya... or even sticky official TX member thread. But as of right now, I don't see TX having their own section.

Sounds mean & jacka$$? I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be. I'm trying to be fair much as I can to everyone... BUT I'll bring this up to admin & other mods

Agreed I've only message on the yahoo message board like 3 times now and I hate the layout and multiple people have had problems even accessing it. I like the idea of us having our own private forum though seems more accessible to everyone and easier to communicate!
