Depends on the power you want, quality you want, who tunes it, if you dyno it, if you do a clutch... lots of things to consider. Making lower power you can use a full OEM setup, if you want e85 youll need to upgrade injectors & pump... that adds 300-500$ right there. But once you pass a point the clutch wont hold thats 450-1000 depending on your desires.

Just my experience (read or delete as you like) is that the results of a 'stage 1' basic
FI were kinda disappointing. This was when I just had the Vortech on low boost and pump gas at 250whp or thereabouts. There is a straightaway on Mt Lemmon at a 7% grade, and when I matted the throttle down not that much happened. "How much did I spend for this?" crossed my mind. Then with more boost, there were a lot of supporting mods -- e85 flexfire, pump and injectors, clutch, radiator, oil cooler, engine mounts, plus some suspension and brake upgrades. I never had a powerful car before but that same straightaway feels like it's going to rip off my face! This was when all the time and money, plus sacrificing the warranty, all made sense. If I could do it again, I might wait for someone dumping their fully modded car, maybe selling my (stock) car to get it. I lost count at over a dozen fully-tits turbo and SC projects that have been dumped in the classifieds at a huge loss, for about what they would get without any mods.

They make several kits, including a twin scroll.

I'm curious as to what they can do for builds which aren't "big power" builds. That is, I'm not interested in running e85 and 16psi for my FI build. e85 might be nice to be able to use (a la flexfuel sensor and mod), but I'm not interested in running more than 7psi of boost with e85 on stock compression pistons, or 5 psi if it's on ACN91 pump gas.
What are the benefits on our cars if we run twin scroll as compared to single scroll, btw? And just to make sure I'm clear on what I'm asking, twin scroll is basically two turbine wheels on one compressor wheel (that is, one side of the engine drives one turbine wheel and the other side drives the other turbine wheel). How is that beneficial over a single scroll turbo? Downsides?

Personally I was interested in doing UEL as it can give a high pressure "burst" right off the bat giving the ability to start the spool process quicker at low loads, but typically doesn't do as well at high end when equally distanced pulses help keeping the turbine spooling. Basically you get a big BURST of pressure to spin the compressor and it is "winding down" until the next burst come in. Runner length, order, and twin scroll are methods of altering how the pulse affects the turbine. And it is actually 1 turbine wheel. But in a twin scroll you have two exhaust housings basically stacked upon each other, one small designed to give "high pressure" and one larger to give lower pressure, higher flow. This is designed to "balance out" low and high power kind of like running two AR compressor housing at the same time. To do this properly you need to A) use two waste gates and a manifold that splits the exhaust gases, or B) an internal waste gate that will split it for you. This is why twin scroll is seen as more expensive. For low power it is a decent spike in cost, looking at 500-1,500 increase in cost typically to go to a twin scroll. I have multiple friends that build turbo kits for a living and some say its a waste of money, others say its wonderful. I personally lean on the side of it is beneficial for allowing you to run a larger compressor and have the spool time of a smaller one (as in it helps). I can't find much saying it really is negative except a few tests done a few years ago. Originally I planned on doing a GTX2867R twin scroll but i decided I just don't care to spend the money and would rather go EUL to spike the boost and if the top end falls off a few HP it is worth it for the cash I save.

I wouldn't be against making big power if this motor wasn't already running such high CR pistons. As it is, with the high CR, I'm very leery of high boost on this motor considering how absolutely abysmal our gas is here, and how irregular the E85 availability is.
Only reason I'm still considering a turbo setup is that while I like the easier setup of SC, it's still "lose power to make power", and I like the idea of extracting more power from gasses in the combustion cycle that weren't used (exhaust gas) to make that power.

But if your not comfortable with E85 just keep the boost low, depending on the kit, exhaust, and tune, 7-12psi would work. The only reason Im not putting a stock block back in my car and doing it again (because i was DAMNED happy with my blower setup) was I know ill get the itch eventually... and want more. So I may as well spend a few dollars more and just build the block up.

Guys,
Quick question for the group.... I'm looking to trade my leather/alcantara BRZ limited seats (front/rear) for FRS or BRZ Premium (front/rear) seats + $650. To be clear, I would get your seats and $650 and you would get my limited seats. I am extremely picky and will only trade for an interior as flawless as mine. I am also looking to trade for someone's frs dash panels for my silver ones. PM me if you're interested. Thanks.

Volk GT-C 18x7.5 +43 5x100 (Set Of 4 Wheels) Frs Brz Wrx
Someone from the local community please come buy my Volks. They can be ridiculously nice/rare show wheels with a little TLC.
$400 FIRM As has been said before, the set is rashed up on all four corners, but there are no bends.
