Funny how the only negative Motor Trend's long term BRZ updates was the replacement of the fuel pump due to the chirp. Aside from that nothing out of the ordinary same as the majority of the people here (except for the couple of lemons).

The sample pool needs to be opened up to offset the malcontents and the fanboys.

So how then does cr dream up different ratings between them?
Because they don't sample every car produced.

The BRZ touchscreen sucks and the cars have had plenty of first year bugs.

Consumer Reports is valid because they are not beholden to anyone. They do not take advertising revenue. They publish thoughtful findings. This does not mean your experience will be 100% identical.

Guys, if anything, this will just make Toyota and Subaru a bit more keen on fixing whatever small problems we are having.

For me personally, my BRZ has developed a number of interior rattles that bug the hell out of me. I've thought about getting ride of it just because of that.

That is kind of surprising from a Toyota which I have found to be very reliable over the years. I understand that this is a joint venture with Subaru however to drop that much so quickly is still surprising.
I sure hope there wrong

Toyota took a sharp turn around 2000 giving up quality for volume when they went full steam to become the number 1 manufacturer in the world.

A short lived victory that's costing them today. They have been living of the reputation they built in the 80's and 90's and people are catching on.

Replacing a fuel pump on a new car is a big deal. My 20 year old Accord has 200k... no fuel pump issues or noise.

A fuel pump that squeaks? I understand on a new car you expect nothing to be wrong but put things into perspective.. the worst that will happen is you will hear a squeak if the hood is open or you're parked somewhere in dead silence it's not like it'll leave you stuck or catch on fire. I'm not a Toyota fanboy but this is an superfluous over reaction that can impact resale prices on a pretty good car (P.S. aside from the FR-S there's no other Toyota I'd buy except a new Supra or ES350 and the current Subaru line up doesn't do it for me either). I think the bigger annoyance with this car is how Toyota keeps changing the configuration with its features making some customers feel cheated because they didn't have the choice to purchase exactly what they wanted and were forced to settled on a product that was lacking. SCION monospec doesn't work, let people decide with their wallets.

I think the following people should be more vocal (and reflected in CR):
3,800 2013/14 four(?!) Cylinder Tacoma owners with potential engine damage.
10,000 2014 Corollas with bad windshield wiper switches.
344,187 Honda Odyssey owners with electrical/software issues.
471,820 Honda Odyssey owners with hydraulic brake issues.

Don't get me started on the "Big Three" and Hyundai...............

Car is not built by Toyota. Car does not use Toyota parts(except for about 5 pieces).

I should add that the part in question IS one of the Toyota parts...

Will the haters take a penny on the dollar for your cars? Site admin should consider grabbing "FT86WhinersClub" as well. CR could be a paying sponsor.
