Thumbs up Premium vs. Limited?

1) What is the difference between the two in terms of features ( I have a good idea but I would like to double check).

The differences I can spot are:
a) Limited has leather seats
b) Limited has keyless entry and push to start
c) Limited has dual climate control
d) Limited has spoiler
e) Limited has heated mirrors (Are heated suits exclusive as well to the Limited?)

The major similarities that I was concerned about are
a) Both have HIDs
b) Both have a security system (LoJack)

Is this spot on?

2) What is the price difference?

MSRP difference is $2000. Is that what you noticed in the market as well?

3) Which did you buy and why?

4) Are you happy with your choice?

5) What is the weight difference?

So far I was considering a Limited (for the nice interior) but now I am thinking Premium might be okay and I can save more money for parts.

Thanks.

Reasons why I bought the Limited:

* Keyless entry and start (whatever the exact term is...but you get the idea)
* HID Lights up front
* Slightly nicer interior, but really this wasn't a factor at all.

Don't think anyone can specifically tell you what you which trim is best for you. It's very subjective especially since both trims in the Subaru line have the same stereo.

Only other feature that jumps out is seat warmers which is largely area dependent if you find them useful.

it is much better to buy the limited IMHO. Just the wing, if you buy the part and have the dealer install it, it will be a huge cost. My rough guess is 1k+. I think you get the idea now. Also based model is always hard to bargain. In the end, Limited gives you a lot of stuff for a small extra cash.

Do you like the wing?

Do you like Alcantara?

Is keyless important to you versus pushing a button.

I got a limited and if I had to do it again I would get the premium. I like the BRZ interior versus a FRS, so since you didn't mention it I'll leave that out. The Head unit sucks for a 2013 car... my 07 Z4M was far superior sadly. The Alcantara is hot on my back and the Nappa leather with the Z4M was more comfortable. If you are handy, you can do it yourself or have the keyless kit installed...there's a DIY or some review about it...I remember reading it somehwere.

The rear spoiler is either you love it or not...sure it helps with drag, but I much prefer no spoiler or Carbon CSL and have the trunk painted...it'll look much better.

So if I had to do it again...I get the premium or even the FRS if I could get the BRZ headlights and save $3K to $4K. Otherwise I get a premium and I think Clint may be your best bet...I didn't know about Clint when I bought my car and I also had wanted GBS color and they freaking discontinued hence my getting a BRZ in late 2013 I prefer going with 2014.

There is no Lo Jack and LoJack is useless... the police cars have to have it eqiuped on their car and you have to pay to get it installed on your car. The cost doesn't equal to the insurance savings...plus if your car is stolen do you really want it back after they did what they did to it or did unknown things to the engine? Unless it's recovered in 15 minutes... Just make sure you have good insurance and be mindful of where your car is parked.

My fav is the keyless entry, but can be a nuisance at times...if the key is in your pocket someone can lock and unlock constantly by accident like the auto detailer. Start button is cool too, but again... it has set backs.. when you park...you can't go from on position to accessory...it automatically goes to off... just the way it is with keyless.

Save your money and save up for parts to give your car a little more pep or comfort. I hope that helps you... the premium comes pretty well equiped...the air condition on the premium though doesn't look as fancy... should work fine...on my limited I always have the dual climate turned off. There are other things like heated seats and mirrors...but I believe you can get aftermarket...if you got the cash then limited...if you want to save money or plan to go better interior...premium is way to go... leather BRZ interior looks very pretty. There's other minor stuff...but you will have to dig more if it's important to you versus half the cost of force induction system.

Premium vs. Limited?

I got the premium.

Why I didn't like the limited:

1. I didn't want fog lights. I personally think it makes the front look messy. I know some people like the look and its up to your taste.
2. I don't like the look of the spoiler. I like the spoilerless look. Again up to your taste.
3. I read on the forums that the alcantara seats are hot in the summer and that some people slide around the seat in tight corners. I came from a miata and I like the cloth mesh seats, so I saw the premium more appealing because of the cloth seats. My friend with a Limited says he likes my cloth seats a lot better and that he would trade seats with me if I wanted.
4. The premium available had a rear bumper appliqué (Film-like protector for the bumper) Homelink, auto adjusting, and compass rear view mirror, all of which did not come with the Limited, it which I found odd.

I was indifferent about the dual climate control. My BMW had it, my miata didn't. I didn't end up using it on my BMW. But I like the look of the dual climate in the BRZ Limited more than the Premium.

What I did like about the limited:

1. Keyless entry
2. Push to start

In the end the keyless entry/push to start wasn't worth the extra $2000.

I got the limited because I figured the extra goodies would be worth the 2k more. I do use Dual Climate but I probably don't use it to its full capacity and I never used the heated seats (I bought it in the spring) but the other day it was pretty cold here in NJ so I finally used it and glad this car has it (never owned a car with them). Keyless go is a nice feature and push button start is a hoot never get tired of it. The cons for me are that while the spoiler looks decent I rather see the curvature of the rear and the Alcantera/Leather seats are not kind to heat though they do look nicer IMO and agreed with the poster above about the fog lights, makes the front look cluttered and I probably wont use it and even if there is a fog I would forget to turn them on. Overall the limited was worth the 2k for me. I like the more upscale interior such as the GTR esque buttons and I do use and appreciate most of the extra features that come with it. Its all about preference and what your willing to spend.

I chose Limited. I liked the Alcantara, while yes someone above mentioned they're hot, but only if you have the windows down and air conditioner off.I liked the keyless entry/start the most so that's why I chose it. I'm happy with my decision though.

Heated seats weren't a big thing, despite my other vehicles having it. I live in Alabama it doesn't get cold here. I like the spoiler. Enough to make the back look nice without crossing the line.

With what i can tell, they're the same except Premium doesn't have fog lights, Does not have heated seats, or keyless start, but everything else seems the same.

Not sure if the Premium has Automatic HVAC or not, but it's flawed anyways in my opinion, so I do it all manually.

As far as weight, I just read it on another site (not sure if it's 100% accurate) but it says "BRZ Premium curb weight 2762 pounds. BRZ Limited curb weight 2776 pounds"

I got mine mainly for the leather seats. I believe mine was 1500 usd more than the premium. I was going to get the premium but they didn't have one in world rally blue at the time and that was the color I wanted.

When I looked at the premium to see the world rally blue, I checked out the interior and it is just all around nicer to me.

Big differences:

Dual zone HVAC
Alcantara seats
Heated seats (if you live in a colder climate)
Foglights
Spoiler
Keyless Push-button start

Minor differences:
Lights on mirrors in the visor
Courtesy lights on doors
Heated seats (if you live in a warmer climate)
Heated side mirrors
Alarm
14 lbs weight increase

As a rule of thumb, I'd say this - there are about five and a half major differences between the trim levels. If there are three or more of them that you really want, it's probably worth it, but if there aren't, it might be easier to do those things individually.

For me, I wanted alcantara seats (the cloth seats just look so cheap to me), heated seats, and keyless start. I was take-it-or-leave it on the spoiler and HVAC (At first I didn't like the spoiler but it grew on me, and supposedly it actually improves the aerodynamics of the car. I rarely use dual zones on the HVAC, but I do like being able to set a temperature and maintain it, and it looks a million times nicer), and I still don't like / have never used the foglights.

My Limited has those features. It actually is a package that sometimes comes with the car and sometimes doesn't. I honestly would have preferred to save the ~$600 instead but all of the Limiteds at my dealer had the package.

Neither of these cars come with a tracking security system (AKA LoJack) from the factory. The Limited includes a non-tracking alarm, but the Premium has nothing. A dealer may, however, have installed LoJack on all of their inventory, if you see it listed as a dealer-installed option.

My Limited has these options. The dealer you're looking at may not have these options in their cars in stock, but they are available for the Limited and can even be installed by the dealer on one they already have in stock.
