I think @Porsche has somehow managed to hack the site and keep his posts from being quotable, because even here on my work computer I can't quote him. Either way, you're really calling me out on this one this time haha. Yes, my mom would prefer I think about other things than cars at this moment. Although, not an apartment, I can't move out until I have a better paying job, so if anything it's preferrable that I look at jobs before anything else. But a guy can daydream about cars to bide his time, can't he?

No, motor doesn't say or specify the fuel source, only the method of locomotion.

Eg. electric motor uses electricity while a gasoline motor uses gasoline. Both are necessarily correct. Otherwise saying electric motor would be unnecessary.

To me a motor is a machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy

while an engine converts thermal energy to mechanical work

I guess motor trend needs to change to all electric car reviews, or change their name....
