No, they are salespeople. Their job is to flog cars to punters. They work at Toyota because they aren't really interested in what they sell.

Until they can take an order on these things, they have no reason to be interested in them.

No idea at all. I don’t work for Toyota. I work for a different dealership that is owned by a company that also owns a couple of Toyota dealerships. The company owns at least one dealership of most mainstream manufacturers. It’s a large company. I don’t have any contact with Toyota at all.
I guess it would depend on the DP/Sales Manager at each individual dealership on what they would do in regards to any discounts whether it be for individuals or groups.

I would dare say 10 committed buyers at 1 dealership will result in a good deal.

Any 1 care too start a possible group buy in Sydney/Newcastle area.

Im in Newcastle but would gladly travel to Sydney for a the right price, otherwise ill wait.

Look at the 370Z. 77K my ass... And if you go for a BRZ be prepared to pay the same or a bit more. Is the 86/BRZ a 40-45k car? No. do we have a choice? No.
Hi,
I'd like to share with you the global comparison pricelist for a 370z.

after seeing the above table, u'd probably appreciate the price of a 370z in Australia

You're going about it wrong.

It's easy for a dealer to put cars on trucks and send them 1,000km. They don't even blink at it.

You guys should do a national group buy, $1,000 down to sort out the dreamers and go to the dealers with $20k deposit on 20 cars.

Appreciate that it costs more than double the US for no good reason? Are you completely mad?

The High Spec model is an unknown extra amount.

It includes

Leather/Alcantra inserts
Three Spoke Steering wheel
Sat Nav Stereo system
HID Headlights
LED Daytime running lights (I can only assume this means the base model does not get these)
Different 17in alloys

There was a few other things, but nothing particularly memorable.

They speculated the price difference for the high spec model could be between $5,000-$10,000 more than the $39,900 base price, which better not be the case as that brings the car into some serious trouble with other competitors, and beyond where I would have hoped the vehicle would be priced.

I did make my pre-order the high-spec model, but the final decision depends on the final pricing of the entire car. If it hits $50,000 I don't think I can honestly justify that kind of price.

Thanks WTF for your input and your proof of deposit.

I'll go wondering around Toyota dealers around my area on the weekends and see if they'll let me put some money down on it. I'm going after the same high end model and colour as you are, but in 6 speed Auto. I'm thinking the same thing, if the price is too high then i'll probably try BRZ if not then i'll look else where. my budget would be 45K anything over - no deal.

Frameless rear vision mirror
