Guys, I started this thread with a genuine question asking if anything had been heard from Visconti. I got the answer I needed but yet again this has just turned into a JV beat up. Whether it is justified or not, this thread is not the place for it so please take your gripes and issues elsewhere. Thanks.

With EcuTek's ability to lock tunes, he'd have to unlock it, claim liability for damages during the confirmation log, and then repay me for that. We're talking over 3G's (used Ebay engine price) in damages that i'm sure he wouldn't want to be liable for.

Sometimes you get Vaseline when you get screwed, other times, Death Sauce.
I wasn't expecting you to have logged it, it's just about the only way I could see getting any redemption.

That said, why don't you take the claim to Ecutek? If you email them with your concern you might be able to get them to unlock it so you can read it. Or possibly just tell you what the targets were.

$3000+, man, I'm sorry.

You got the answer, he's not posting, he hasn't logged in, and no one's getting updates either. Why shouldn't the conversation carry on? Do all your conversations stay on a single topic when you talk to people in person? Or do they drift and evolve as different people with different perspectives share and add to the conversation?

If there was more to be said about the original question I could see you being upset, but there isn't.

It would be like fighting the invisible man at this point. I just wanted to put my side out there.

Are you just guessing the tune was running lean because other people on the internet claim JV tunes that way?

No, my wideband told me so right before it pegged rich, my car cut off, and I coasted down the highway to a stop, opened the hood to find it covered in oil and coolant, fragments of block everywhere, and my turbo licking up flame. I didn't need to guess.

The engine would lean misfire if you tried to run 17:1 or leaner at any kind of moderate load. Perhaps you were actually reading a rich misfire. Don't believe all you see (and potentially don't understand) on a gauge.

Terrible write up and just plain garbage editorial work. I am ashamed of roadandtrack's review of the BRZ because they half assed it. I see why their reader base has been dying.

The article is narrow minded. If you've ever lived in Detroit the FRZ really isn't a great choice. The roads there are beat to hell and the way people drive its no surprise the muscle car was invented there. Perfect car for Detroit in a Police Interceptor. I like Edmund's reviews they get out and travel the country with their long term vehicles.

Take a look at the comments from Jason. They explain why this happened.

Garbage journalism at its finest. I knew I gave up my subscription so to R&T many years ago for a reason. If its not BMW, they don't love it...
