Posted this in the off topic forum figured I'd get a better response here seeing as you guys might know more.

I currently have a 2 year registration which has just hit over to the second year. I want to get a vanity plate but its 50 per year. Now if I pay the 100 will they charge me another 100 after this year is up or will they charge me in 2 years?

They will renew your registration starting now, then discount your renewal fee based on the prorated leftover from your previous registration. So, you are one year away from having to renew again. You have paid for two years. You want a vanity tag. They will charge you two full years worth of registration starting now (plus vanity tag fee) then subtract from that one year's worth of registration from the year you had left (paid for but didn't use).

How much? I deleted the snorkle on my car, so that doesn't matter to me

It only counts if you haven't rolled over into the second year, which he has. So he's gonna lose his full second year of registration fees if he gets a new plate now.

So some asshat in a neon tried to race me today. I switched to Map #2 and gave the front of his car a decent amount of carbon deposit and something for him to think about.
