Nah...

...the US spec FR-S is still this weirdly expensive but stripped down version of the 86. ToyotaUSA/SCION is making PROFIT by keeping this spec as basic as possible.

Now that US Domestic part number is out in the wild lets see what happens. It would be useful of a few more forum members would step up and try to order these from their dealers. Are there other avenues (Body Shops?) If we could get the GT86 LED/HID assemblies at these prices it would be a killer deal. Trying to get these from Germany make this a $2600-2800 exercise. $2000 for the set is a good price.

$2000 a set for the LHD Spec headlight is the same as our price though.

1) I REALLY want the OEM BiXenon assemblies and their nifty LED "lashes" (at least what I call them)

2) I can afford them and I would have purchased the car with them if I had the oppertunity (even if they were a $2000 option)

3) Retrofitting HID's in the FR-S lamp assemblies and bending down the squirrel finder, baking my headlights apart to install correct projectors with an LED strip, or installing some aftermarket headlamps with similar features are not the same.

4) I have questionable levels of sanity

5) There's a lot of "Keyboard Experts" who are taking about things they know nothing about, especially on the subject of these parts. For my part I wanted to find out for myself if I could get these lights without owning a "Series 10" FR-S. Within the next 14 days we'll all find out if I'm successful.
