There is a group buy thread with Giccin kind of running things but to my knowledge there were 10 + people on that list....

I wonder what information is being held-back or if there is any misinformation going on...prob. a mix of both.

Yes 1-2/month per dealer. I think first year is limited to 3-4k.

I just put my deposit down ( Pittsburgh, PA). Dealer called me on Saturday. So they knew that I was coming today. It took me less than 15 minutes. They told me that they will notify me about the MSRP in a month or so.

Very unlikely. Often for first year production the first few VINs are destroyed for testing and one or more are kept in corporate museums.

Someone will have the 000086 number, but it would only be by weird coincidence if the last guy selected by Scion (and we don't have any idea who that is) gets that chassis.

No evidence of that really. They've said they'll make as many as they can, or as many as they can sell.

The 86 numbe VIN probably ends up in a collectors garage or even Toyodas garage.

Just going off what 2 Subaru dealers have told me. Other dealers have told other members similarly. We shall see but how Scion/Subaru have been dragging out everything, I could see them drag out first year production.

Subaru sold 1257 WRXs (including STI) in December 2011, across 600 dealerships. That is about 2 per dealership per month, and you can walk into any Subaru dealership right now and see a few WRXs on the lot, or order one without a huge wait, I think people have been getting them in a month or two. Of course they have been out for a while and when they first came out you did have to wait a few months for delivery, just like any new car. I'm sure there will be an initial shortage as everyone scrambles to be the first one, but I don't think 2 per dealership per month is really that limited.

No misinformation, they will just have to wait a while for everyone to get their BRZ. It's not like 10 BRZs are going to show up at that dealership at once.

Okay so then let's just pretend that the 1-2 per month thing is true. How would a group buy work out then? Would the 10 people that have put down their deposits have to wait in line at that one dealership as they roll them out? Or would they do an order and have them all ship there to that dealership so that they could just insta-sell them? Wouldn't it make sense to just make/sell as many as there is demand (seeing as there are people with deposits already), or am I just drawing broad conclusions?

Should add there is still a lot not confirmed about the car yet (ie pricing) but we still take the rumors as being that.

Depends on colors and options. Car arrives once it made, shipped and delivered.

I agree with trans...a lot still unknown, but the dealers certainly seem to have the same talk track when it comes to supply.

The Subaru dealer said it would take them about a month for an order to come in. I was concerned about availability and he did not seem worried at all.

I was told 2 BRZ's per year per dealer when I first put my deposit down. I am of course assuming his statement to be completely and just wanted to be sure he got my money.
