Seriously! What is with 'some' of these dealerships/Scion employees not knowing more details on this huge event? I mean depending what you call "huge" but you'd think they'd be a little more professional and KNOWLEDGEABLE on this whole thing? Makes me annoyed even not being a winner! Hopefully the water will clear up soon...my thoughts go out to you all...best of luck finding out the details.

I didn't bother asking those questions though, but the rep was very nice and apologized for the dealership not being totally in the loop. She was as excited as I was, lol.

This is possibly because there are people (like me) who have been watching the development of the 86 and were unaware of this forum till they got the email announcing the First 86 program. Then spent a frantic three days Googling every available FR-S link.

The day after I got the email I went to my Scion dealer to see if there was any more information available and he said, "Whaaaaaaat?" Seems like Corporate keep the First 86 a secret perhaps so dealers wouldn't be entering?

I'm with some of you guys that say they haven't gotten an email just yet. Do you think it's because I reside in Massachusetts? I mean most of the winners here have been in major places that have great weather and better driving conditions? Just an assumption lol

Well if you are on the wait list, at least we have a chance to order right after the first 86. Unless the dealers did their own wait list. I ain't heard of none around my area, and I have 6 scion dealers in my city.

Trying to convince my 31 year old self it's ok to drive a Scion. Cause i just really want in this car. I wish this was for either a Subaru or FR-S!

yeah im 32 with 3y/o twins... im trying so hard to rationalize the praticality of this as a daily driver and weekend track car?
im scared as hell to whail on a brand new car with my extremely abusive drift style (clutch kick killer!) not to mention, WILL MY KIDS FIT IN THE BACK?! im 6' so probably not.

either way, if i get the call i will probably jump up and down screaming like a high school girl winning a radio contest lol

btw, i work in point loma. when you get it can i check it out someday? REALLY want to check those back seats.

Im guessing they are choosing based on locations, wanting to get as much exposure as possible and also looking into which markets that Scion is popular in already, just a guess, but it also looks like most winners have been West Coast, very few East, my weather is awesome but no email either. I figure they have till 806 eastern time to make good on the 24 hour thing

Got a phone call from Scion corporate also saying "Congratulations, you are one of the 86", I am beginning to believe it is real, going down to dealer later today...
they asked "Any questions?" I asked about price and got " the price has not been set yet", so we will see...

Buddy of mine works at the Burnsville Toyota/Scion...I used to work for the Walser group of dealerships so I picked them as well. Don't matter to me at this point. It'll give me a chance to decide on what I really want as far as colors and options go. Hell I may even go to the Blue Side.

FWIW, the Scion rep said only ~3400 people entered the contest. That's not exactly "huge" in my book. She said the dealership network had already been notified, though there might be some lag between the communication and it filtering down to the sales floor at local dealerships.

I'm in Everett. Not to far from good ol Boston. And I was in such a rush to to do it that I can't exactly remember which one I chose. But I do remember clicking boch scion. Just don't recall the location lol. I picked argento manual for mine too. What about you?
