Man, I really want that Borla UEL, but the whole reason I got the BRZ to replace the WRX is that the WRX was a frankenstein car and is a PITA to deal with around cops and smog checks here in CA.

I kept the stock header... since the exhaust ports face the ground, the header is pretty easy to swap out for emissions once every year or every other year as needed

Yeah, it wasn't too hard to drop the downpipe on the WRX, but just the fact that I'd have to plan an entire day to do a smog check, and get nervous every time I saw a cop, was enough to make me not want to mod anymore. But it does sound so gorgeous.

#CaliProblems lol

I'm not worried about the cop factor here, just the emissions but I think new cars are exempt for like 3 years or something. And here I can just get the reflash to delete the CEL and pass anyway. For obd2 they just plug in and do a readiness test

How are you liking the exhaust? Is it on the louder side or quiet side?

Actually, that reminded me that California was supposed to (and I think did) switch to an OBD-II & visual check as of this year. No more sniffer! I need to confirm that the change did happen.
