Damn. I'll be in socal. Maybe I can bring my own container for the half and pick it up from you sooner. I'll figure out when I'm gonna do the diff and get back to you.

My only free days are July 14, 20 and then 27-28. So if someone else needs to do their diff you could give it up to them. I only need diff and brakes done anyway. Tranny is gonna go another 15k for me (60k interval, but im gonna swap at 45k)

yeah the alternate earlier date is July 20, but I figure most people may not have all their parts/supplies ready by then. And then some may not be able to make that. Either way, let me know guys.

While waiting for AT&T to fix my wifi, I went ahead and did my diff & tranny swap. It's an easy job. I feel some difference in smoothness around the block but haven't taken it out faster than that.

About 14 86s at Starbucks. I met some new people and old. I brought my mom along the trip. Left around close to or after 8AM I believe this our first time we left close to on time (in my experience) I was a little lost who was leading. I think we should have made sure everyone was ready to go before driving out of the parking spots. As I made a left on getting out of Starbucks I scraped the front bumper. Behind me was Chris who made a much apparent scraping noise to his car. I cringed on the inside a bit. Cruising along the road we may have ditched the big group. The semi-trunk was a bit frustrated with us haha honked his horn and he was shouting something I couldn't understand as I was along side his door. Off we go to Vista Point. Chris, myself, Plato in that order. To be honest, I didn't think that was Plato behind me. I thought I saw two people in the blue 86. We got lost I really wish I had my walkie-talkie I wanted to say something about "hmmmm this is unfamiliar road." However it's okay. I felt we discovered a new road and driving to our destination. I trusted Chris! Off we go in the wilderness quite smooth with many curve turns, up and down hills and few houses as we pass by. It was beautiful. Finally our fun journey came to an end. Turns out we were lost! Hahaha. Finally, I realized it was Plato who was behind me the whole time. Instead of driving towards Vista Point. We head towards Canapea museum I was glad we didn't go through 236 or was it 235 whichever it is the one with one lane narrow with many blind spots. Very cool and the weather was nice and cold the way I like it with a tiny dash of humidity in some spots. Arrived at Canapea, many nice looking cars and damn crowded. Forgive me Chris, for passing over you. It was cool seeing the new and the old cars. and the smell of fresh old car in the air. Beautiful machines. Crazy huge tires and that porche/audi race car coming into the garage ooo la la! I think I missed out when he was driving outside perhaps? I enjoyed the trip. Thanks. After I left Canapea. I drove up to Vista Point to show my Mom the awesome view I get to experience thanks to the awesome community showing a place I never been to.

Just to be sure @overlookedx you are Chris? If not my mistake! Replace all the Chris with @overlookedx then hahaha.

Did anyone else scrape their bumpers getting out? I drove out slow and easy. I'm not even lowered.. >< it was a light scrape. Curses haha
Thank you!

LOL great summary @Simpleviet

Yeah we got a little lost and confused but it all worked out, we all made it to the museum and had an awesome time there. Next time keep both your hands inside and on the wheel in the curves though haha. And yeah having a radio along helps with the communication!

Some of the pics from Canepa!

This one made me LOL -- @RC51ed photobombs on @86_ZN6 's picture haha

More photos available on 86DRIVE.com as well.

Overwhelmed in the collection Canepa had in store. Granted the race cars (1st floor behind the workshop) were privately own, seeing them was just awesome. Another member and I spoke about the Veryon "least interesting car here" was very true, IMO just a notch ahead of McLaren. The XJ220 was my fav...growing up, I build half dozen of its models. Surprisely, I saw no GT90 (second fav model car), I guess this concept was never made a reality.

FWIW, Kyosho makes a lot of these race cars today in their line of Mini Z bodies. And having raced these 1:27 scaled cars, saturated with their real-life scaled replicas, I felt I have seen many of them. I still have a few of them for interested eyes to see next time. Kyosho has the FRS/BRZ released but they keep getting on backorder.

Checking out the Blox party with a few members, I felt I left a world of function for a world of bling. I took just one picture of a rocket bunny red FRS. I guess I'm getting old. Egg tart was da' bomb tho lol

Having not sufficed my crave to actually drive, on the way to CV to pick my kids, I took to 580 to Golf Links to Redwood. Ahh what a relief. That completed the day. I felt the benefit of swapping tranny/diff oils haha.

Thanks everyone that made it out! 2 days in a row of a large #s of owners...you know this car is hot.

hey guys, for those of you who are on Facebook, I've finally launched an 86DRIVE.com page on there. Feel free to Like us on Facebook! It will be another mechanism that we can use to share info about upcoming events and spread the word about our club.

https://www.facebook.com/86drive

some of you already know, we're also sharing photos on Instagram. Use hashtag #86drive if you are taking pics on one of our drives or meets and want to share.

Lastly, help wanted... volunteers who are savvy with the social networking stuff like Facebook or IG or Twitter, who are excited about participating in these drives and like to help spread the word. I could use some help in generating and updating content for all these and the website too. Photographers, bloggers, car owners who want their cars to be featured on our site, and yes even models PM me or email me at pmok at 86drive . com

Wow, for the first time in a long time the DRIVE thread is on the second page! Gasp. Where is everyone? Haha

Anyway, I just posted a write up on 86drive.com about my first track day experience this weekend with HOD at Thunderhill. I hope it provides some insight for people thinking about doing their first event. If nothing else, you can look at my pretty pictures from the photographers and watch the Youtube video of my final session of the day

In case you can't find it: http://86drive.com/2013/07/24/first-...t-thunderhill/
