Yes a 2.0T will provide more power than a 2.0 NA. But a 2.0T will also cost more. So for a base BRZ do you want a 2.0T that costs more or a 2.0 that costs less but provides less power (yes we all know base engine is going to be a NA engine)? For the BRZ STI do you want a 1.6T/2.0T or a NA 2.5L? In that case I will still take the NA. |

throw in a 2.5 and you have a whole new set of issues and costs. of course a lower hp n/a motor will be cheaper but if my first post i said hp for hp. its not a matter of what i want, i just think that turbo for the potential brz sti makes the most sense as i believe that its probably the most efficient move from the n/a motor we have when cost and power are concerned. |

Let's say Subaru has a FA16/FA20 turbo that puts out 260-280hp vs a NA FA25 with 250-260hp. I would be willing to leave a few hp on the table to get a NA engine in the STI. If I ever felt I needed more torques I would consider a supercharger. |

Now the H6 would be interesting if it would fit but it would probably throw off the handling a bit since it couldn't be mounted as far back.

you have to admit that you cant know if that is because of the turbo and not because of the demographic buying the cars or even the boxer design

Also hard to tell how much of it was base on abuse/neglect or returning a modded car back to stock for warranty work.

I have no interest is seeing a turbo here. Seems like the antithesis of the car's mission. Maybe a low-boost supercharger, but frankly, I'm happy just to get a few more horses out of the motor, and call it a day. Maybe a crank pully, or light weight flywheel, and an intake. I feel like this is a car that should have great induction noise over exhaust...
Oh, and maybe tuning to support an 8k redline

I WANT TORQUE!
200hp is perfectly fine but this has the same torque as the RSX-type SLOW which make em feel slow as hell. SO unless you find another magical way to give me torque other than forced induction, this car needs a turbo. A factory turbo also gives you the potential to mod for little money. so yes this car needs FI. I can easily pay $5k more for that factory option with warranty so bring it! |

Just make the turbo engine an option, N/A guys can have their performance wants and the turbo guys can get their performance desires.
