See below. It does not look exactly like what you describe, but similar.

I'm at work so I'll be brief.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-poHI8jVc1I&feature=youtube_gdata_player"]Clunk - YouTube[/ame]

Mine is more like a clunk than a pop, I realize. Happens when stopping hard or accelerating quickly. Could it be a dangling piece of something in the engine bay?

That's doubtful since the seal between the cylinder head and the valve is primarily affected and not the valve itself (and there's no plastic seal within the valve itself which could be molten away or something).

Also, if that valve was broken, it would just dump fuel in and around the combustion chamber which would probably not ignite (and if it would, the car would eventually catch fire and possibly burn down).

Sounds like the clutch or torque converter is messing up when he stops, is there any feeling behind the clunk going to your pedals?

No, just an audible pop-clunk from the front passenger side. Last night it sounds like a rubbery pop but today when I started driving the car cold it sounds like something metal.

I had this noise after I installed rear subframe bushings in my car. When backing out of my driveway, with the steering wheel rotated to the left near lock, but not at lock, it would clunk. After installing rear differential bushing inserts and solid steering rack bushings, sound has gone away, and vibrations are very tolerable, besides being quite enjoyable haha.

Sounds vaguely like you're stomping on the clutch, mine makes funny noises like that too.

Just the impression that I get.

What mods do you have done up front in terms of suspension, under the hood and exhaust, wheels brakes etc?

Nothing, it's bone stock save for the headlight retrofit.

Nah, I have the clutch fully disengaged when I braked hard in the video. The clunk is heard right after stopping, right when your body is pulled forward by the sudden lack of motion of the car.

When did this start? Did it happen after your bumper removal and re-install?
It sounds like something popping in and out of place.

Check anything that would be loose from your install.
Also check your wheel lug nut TQ. Make sure they are tight as that can cause clunks.

Could be something suspension related as well loose or worn out but thats a dealer trip, impossible to tell without getting under the car.

Just yesterday when I took it for a long drive.

I'm pretty anal when it comes to screwing the bumper back on because with my previous car, the fender sidewalls gave out on a freeway ride and got shredded to pieces by my tires, so I don't think I missed any screws.

What's the proper torque for the lug nuts (and how much is a good torque wrench)?

It should be in the manual, fastest way to find out.
