Visconti true colors shown, def wouldnt give him a dime

Being fair, from reading the story I will tend to side with Dave-ROR here. Whomever tuned your car is the one that needs to take care of you. Sometimes us the customer have no idea what happends or what entails to get that "help" we think we need, and might be even misled by our "tuners" into thinking otherwise.

My example, I initially tuned with JV, he was always very responsive and quick to help when I needed it. I was waiting for him to come over and live tune but it did not happen in the time frame I needed and ended up going with FA20Club who is local to me. To make a long story short, what ended up happening is that after leaving the Dyno with FA20club's tune, my car would not start like a regular car, I would need to press the gas pedal after it started cranking for it to start.

I was MAD a Visconti because in my ignorance I thought AND was led to believe that the only thing needed was for JV to give me an injector calibration sheet and that was it...

well, I later found out it was not as simple as I was led to believe from FA20Club. It was not a matter of having a calibration sheet, set it and forget it. calibrating injectors takes time and patience and its a process that can take several hours or a few days. What I was asking from JV was to takes those hours he spent fine tuning the injector calibration for my models, and jsut hand it over in a gold plate to FA20Club. That would have been very stupid... I have learned that now with more experience and hands on tuning.

I even was an a-hole about it and called him out in the forum. I was an even BIGGER A-HOLE about his V1 FF kit.... Funny thing is, I AM running right now Visconti's stage 1 FF kit and learned that the fuel line issues where not what was portrayed. I am using fuel lines designed by my mechanic, yes, but no fancy AN fitting or anything like that, using regular screw hose clamps, rated hose and properly sized barbs. ZERO issues, not even a hint of fuel leak.

Even with ALL of the above, JV still to this day has helped me. I have texted and spoken on the phone several times even a few days ago, and he answers me and holds no grudges. We don't see eye to eye always, but nonetheless, he has offered and helped when there has been no reason to.

To conclude, I think this is one of the instances where JV did no wrong. He offered great help initially, spent his time doing so and charged nothing, why in the world should we expect him to do so again??

How many times would you work for free? If I were him I would have told you the same... Your current tuner needs to figure it out.

I've been in similar shoes, and my ignorance led me to blame JV. Well, it was not JV. FA20Club needed to step up to the plate and spent the time tuning my injectors.

I think everyone think the issue is i think i deserve something for free. Thats def not the case. Im completely happy with circuit motorsports. I was doing some research on my own and figured he might have come across this at some point. So it was a quick hey have you seen this maybe something happened in the engine bay. Trust me if he said sorry no i havent. I would have been like okay thanks and gone about my day.

The problem is the fact that you created a review thread saying he did something wrong for basically saying "talk to your tuner and he needs to figure it out" (in his own words obviously no these), means you are calling him out for not offering a help he did not have or need to from the start point that he runs the business of tuning.

See it this way, you did not create a thread to thank him for helping you the firsts two times, but you took the time to create a thread to call him out for not wanting to help you a third time with no money exchanged....

the way I see it is: If you asked the question on a forum and he acted like a ****, then he is a ****.

If you CALL him (interruptions during business hours), then you are inconveniencing him and you are not a paying customer, then that is completely different.
A lot of these guys help us out on the forums, but that is at THEIR LEISURE.

its pretty much common knowledge that he doesn't entirely have people skills,

its up to you wether to hold it against him or not.

In the thread where he offered his help he was thanked for his help. And if he asked for a fee at the time for that i would have been happy to pay it, but again this isnt about money its about someone being rude that is a vendor. Like i said this is my opinion. Yea maybe he had a bad sec but would his attitude towards me be different if i said ill pay for an answer? Probably. Yes money talks but regardless no vendor on any forum should be rude for someone asking a question that convo could potentially turn into some kind of revenue even just word of mouth for just being a respectible person that doesnt disrespect someone for asking something

I havent gotten into those threads about him not being a people person. I only really started posting alot a few months ago. So now i know from this thread and digging into threads that he isnt a people person.

Exactly. Based on this convo i had with him my opinion is i wouldnt give him cent because to me being treated with respect is what will get someone my business or my referal.

So I received in my email the conversations between you and JV and it does not look to me he was an a-hole at all. Just plain and simple said his thoughts... Maybe it was just not the response you wanted to hear, but nonetheless, it does not seem offensive. I'm trying to be level headed and fair.

I don't see anything wrong with the way he responded... it does look like he was being pretty helpful up until the end. I mean, you're basically asking him to solve a problem on someone else's product for you. I get the whole "customer is king" thing, but you're technically not his customer, are you?
