98mph is pretty good! That's low 14's and possibly hitting 13.99999.

That said, I'm only 50ft above sea level, was playing with tire pressures and took all weight I could easily remove out of the car all of which will account for a lot. I'd love to get some better rubber, an exhaust and a tune, feel like I could break into the 13s. |

Hey guys. I run a 13.75 second 1/4 mile with a 60ft of 2.0xx and a trap speed in 3rd gear at 99mph at the moment.
Thinking of switching out the 26&1/2 tall slicks for a set of 24&1/2 tall drag radials |

Really need help on improving my times guys. I'm on the right side in pic below.
Mods are sprintex 210 intercooled, 69 mm pulley, flex fuel (79% ethanol). Tires are 265/35/18 Michelin pss on the rear on stock suspension. 30psi tire pressure and just did quick burnout to clean them up. temp was in 70s and dropped throughout the night. Low humidity. For the life of me I can't get a good launch. launching at 3k rpm or higher results in wheel spin through 1st and 2nd with a lot of rough tire hop in some instances. anything around 2.4k-2.7k results in car bogging down and taking off like a snail (what happened in pass below). I tried rolling off the clutch slowly but the ecutek launch control automatically disengages and lets the rpms climb and still results in wheel spin. I also had one almost good run where just chirped tires on launch and hooked resulting in a 2.0xx 60' but then the tires lit up at the top of 1st and into 2nd resulting in a 13.5xx time @ ~106. Any ideas are more then welcome. I would love to touch the 12s.

Also, shifting technique plays a big part too. Gently push the shifter towards the next gear (not hard enough that it goes to neutral) then kick the clutch to get the shifter to move to the next gear. This is a very quick shifting technique. You can also try powershifting which is the same technique except that you keep your right foot flat on the gas while you shift. Note it is extremely hard on your car and you might break something but it's the fastest way to shift. Finally, better tires are a good idea. I know PSS has good lateral grip but no idea about traction. They're a fairly hard compound so I doubt it's great. Something like RE71r will probably hook up better but I honestly know next to nothing about drag tires. |

Don't use launch control feather the gas, then quickly and controlled let the clutch out roughly 1 to 1.5 seconds to full release. When clutch is going out gas should be going down.. Rpms for you I would guess between 3000 and 4k would be a good range to feather at. Drop tires down to 15 to 20 psi and drive thru the water onto dry pavement burn them until they smoke let off brake during burn out half throttle burn out until it hooks then stage. The perfect launch you will be scrubbing the tires thru first gear if they do spin it shouldn't more than 5 ft Like this [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCFOM4fuWSM"]13.58 sec. Delicious Tuning and PPE Header N/A FRS Breaks 100mph in the 1/4 mi - YouTube[/ame] I can launch at 7800 rpm on drag radials and pull a 1.8 60ft time doing this method just takes practice.
