Sadly he probably has lost a lot of customers due to the long lead time. Kit surely does work though no argument there.

Yes and no. I know I am one of the first people to get the system so I'm spoiled, but the first iterations of the system wouldn't be the right ones to sell a lot of. The latest iteration is the first version that feels like a regular supercharger. And has many features and fixes that were discovered due to trial and error.

Who would of known some of the issues we had with installs until people started screwing things up.

It seems things are picking up though and he is satisfying the Miata crowd as well. I wish I could invest in his company... I would be all over it.

My analysis of the situation is that people who want this kit would never go normal superchargers/turbochargers because of the risk or cost. For me personally I put my name on the list and just went into hibernation and did my own thing till the magical day when i got that PM and bought it. I feel like a lot of the people on the waiting list feel the same way. Realistically there is no other way to get anywhere near this amount of power without dropping 4000+. So basically there are no competitors and we all just had to wait.

Definitely has a different customer base. With that said, I agree completely with what was already said, it's probably best the early adopters including myself were able to work out the kinks. Now if and when Rob does mass produce these, he will have a proven and tested product that has a lot more options.

But, this may never happen. Ultimately it's up for Rob to decide and clearly he has other things he is doing as well. That's his choice as it's his product. If you want it then you will have to wait, unless you pick one up used. I can assure you as many others have already it's worth the wait.

Waiting is tough, but worth it. Hang in there man.
This is so true! I am running 1year+ on my Camry Sedan project.- Outstanding performance results. It has taken so long now however, that I think I am going to buy a Toyota Solara, 5spd., V-6, and now build my old kit into it to prove performance outcomes. Tired of waiting for my other Camry guy to install the Phantom system.

200Hp (stock output, also 200ft/lbs) V-6, manual 5spd Solara...... likely to come!

Sigh, I just want him to shut up and take my money dammit! i know he doesn't say much which just leaves the money taking ha ha. Wait too much longer and we will all be in electrics and running hydrogen
The general idea with crowdfunding is that you've got a finished product, as well as a manufacturer to mass produce that product, but you don't have the capital/money to pay for that initial run (manufacturers usually have a minimum requirement). So then you go the crowdfunding route to raise the capital needed for that run.

I don't think Rob is at a point where he believes he's got a finished product yet, let alone have a manufacturer in mind. He's keeping this project close to the vest for now and quite frankly I don't mind because when I finally get mine I'll be a very rare breed indeed (there's already hardly any "regular" FI 86'ers around me...But being an 86'er with an ESC, that damn near makes me magical!).

I looked at my average mpgs for the first time in two months and I am averaging 28.0 mpg (according to the cars built in reader, been on 85 ESC Headers Tune with no problems for 4,000 miles, reset trip when installed/tuned), pretty sure I am winning in the E85 fuel economy, Phoenix is really wide open and flat though, I usually do 75-80 on the freeway, and WOT when I merge, so its not like I am babying it. Whats the most miles we have on an ESC as of now?

I do not believe that the cars built in reader is calibrated to calculate the proper output when using E85. try calculating it yourself by logging your miles between fill ups, with the gallons it takes to fill up.

I was just using it as a baseline, for others to get an idea, e85 is so cheap right now I could care less for fuel economy Yea, I just assume people know that, I probably should have been more specific

Really? How cheap is it around town where you are going? I used to see it far cheaper then Gasoline, but now that gas is so cheap E85 almost a dollar per gallon more expensive from what I've seen.

Here in Austin I fill up my SRT-4 with e85 for $1.25 a gallon usually... 93 octane is around $2.30-2.50 a gallon.

I don't use E85 but my in car avg MPG number is in-accurate regardless. It says I'm getting mid 28's but based on my fill ups I'm getting a consistent 25 mpg. I suspect something else is going on and will be pulling out the ESC and re-flashing the ECU for a dealer service soon anyway. Going to use the opportunity to run through a full tank to be sure that my mpg loss is indeed related to the ECU/ESC changes.

25mpg doesn't seem so unreasonable...

sure I've seen people get 35+, but I've also seen quite a few in the mid 20's too...

My in-car gauge/calc is way off too. I can link you to my Fuelly, I usually put in the notes what the computer "thinks" I get.
