Yes I've seen them and I agree I wish the torque was a bit higher. But this is still in the development faze. And the new dyno looks more on par with other boxer motors now. The always tend to start out really strong, peak midrange and then die off. A stock FRS dyno looks funny stock. But anyway all I was saying is that horsepower plays a big role in drag racing as well. But honestly this would not be a very good choice for a drag car regardless. Without a motor swap (already seen 2JZ's in these cars).

I don't give a CRAP about drag racing.
I want a daily usable car, not what the FRS is in stock form.

Can't wait for my car to make that kind of power.

Still wanting to know potential prices on this.

Not sure where you are getting the 10 percent??

165 to 206 is alot more than 10 percent, its actually 25%.

Time your shifts nicely and you will be way over 25%, i usually shift at about 7200 now.

When you shift and it drops to 5000 RPM for the next gear your at 175hp vs 125 --- 40% increase.

This is simply a massive gap. The point of the comparison is that the BMW is in a DIFFERENT league and it is actually damn close at keeping up.

He was referring to about a 10% increase in torque on the top end of the rpm range. But he was going by the graph in the first post.

Fenton,

When I watch closely your videos update 2 :

You do the 0-60mph in about 6 to 6.5 seconds.
( You start at around 5 seconds and you reach 60mph at 11-11.5 seconds.)

You do the 0-100mph in about 16 seconds.
( You start at 5 seconds and you reach 100mph at 21seconds flat. )

Now, it was interesting for me to compare your performance result to my own setup.

I have spent 3K in mods to be at around 185WHP-190WHP with 91 octane pump gas.

FA20CLUB Ecutek Kit ( tune+cable+license ) 900$
AFE Intake Kit 300$
Borla UEL Header 625$
HKS front pipe 350$
Greddy axleback exhaust 625$
FA20Club Overpipe 250$ ( Not yet installed )

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9rLh9W8GfM"]Scion FR-S Acceleration test time 0-60 and 0-100mph - YouTube[/ame]

As you can see with my own video;

I do the 0-60mph ( 0-100KM/H) in about 6.5 seconds.

( I start at around 37.5 seconds and reach 60mph at 44 seconds )
( I start at around 1min7.5 seconds and reach 60mph at 1min14 seconds )

I do the 0-100mph (0-160km/h) in 15-15.5 seconds
( I start at 37.5 seconds and reach 100mph at 54 seconds )
( I start at around 1min7.5 seconds and reach 100mph at 1min22second )

Conclusion, we have very similar performance but your setup cost half the price of mine.

Now I'm wondering what power I could reach on top of my setup by adding one of those electric supercharger... ( 220-240 whp ) ???

Thanks for showing this new interesting boost option !

Your shifts are very good! Assuming you are using launch control and flat foot shifting?

A major difference between you and I is elevation. If you are in Quebec City you are at 300ft while I am at about 3500 ft. The dyno accounts for the altitude if I'm not mistaken however what you end up putting to the road uncorrected is a lot different.

This setup would be very good on your car at your altitude ... Maybe even 2psi at red line which would give some Damn good numbers.

Another big difference I found was how hard to launch the stock car I'd in comparison to the electric supercharger. I just roll onto the throttle at about 3500 rpm and there is no bog.

I think I could get that number down with a harder launch and good shifting as you have shown.

Thank you for the data and the kind words. This system is going on at least 4 people's cars in the next month or so we will probably see quite a bit more opinions on the system as time goes on :-)

Where I recorded this video I was at 925 feets.

Elevation here vary from 100 feets to 2400 feets.

But you are right,

My shifting and launching were more agressive than yours.

Elevation is also a bit favorable to me.

But it totally give sense to the dynos numbers you posted.

There is no doubt for me that your car now developp around 200rwhp at wot.

My impressions thus far

- it does change the car having this on cause I no longer have to rev it up all the time to get going, you can WOT in what ever gear and get to the speeds you want

-it took many charging cycles to break in the batteries but after 6-7 hours it got better and better everytime

- I absolutely love not needing to downshift to pass in 5th and 6th gear!

- off the line acceleration it where I find this most addictive, I will do a video with the Echarger off and on 1-3 gears this week to give you an idea.

- I love that I can turn this off at any time and drive completely NA, at the end of the day for me NA is still NA and it very fun to drive as well

- I have yet to out drive the battery, meaning even when its not at full charge it still had plenty of go.

these are just my first impressions, its been a busy weekend for me and I did not get to spend any time with the car yesterday.

My video review will provide much better feedback via commentary while driving, I'm planning on doing something along the lines of doing the same route with the charger off and then on.

So far I LOVE IT! this is perfect if you are just looking for the extra kick but not a high cost build, install was easy, hardest part was drilling the rivets to remove the resonator from the air box. No draining of fluids, no removing bumper, just simple.

Rob gave me a few days to test it before taking any sort of payment, as of this morning I basically said to him "Take my money" lol
