That depends on the size of the wire. Poking two 2 awg wires through the fire wall is hard enough. I don't know if four would be possible without drilling. When even small voltage drops can make a big difference in performance I don't think I'd want to go down to 4 awg.

I think you'll want to take a good look at this compressor. This isn't your daddy's shoddy eBay hairdryer. This is one of the biggest concerns I have with all the scams out there, but in this case, it's not an issue.

All I'm trying to say is that comparing this e-charger to traditional belt-driven superchargers is apples to oranges (or Prius to C63 ). You should rightly be comparing this e-charger to a 50 shot of nitrous instead.

Good post, very help. I wish you luck in all your future indevors and hope they take you to far off places. :happy0180:

Vortech at my altitude, on the same dyno as i did my runs on made 230hp on the new 9psi compressor.

Im not trying to say it should be directly compared to full time FI but you can see we are already very close to the power output after only 2 weeks on the car and no revisions on the compressor.

The electric supercharger makes 180 wtq from 2000rpm to 5500rpm, the vortech doesnt make 180wtq until 6000rpm.

While the vortech is making 120wtq at 2500 we are at 180wtq.

The Vortech install seems like a gong show from some of the posts and build threads i have seen. The one guy spent like 2 full days and 7500 bucks on his project. That is WAY to rich for my blood.

I do find it interesting that Vortech gets dragged through the mud while Innovate is left alone.

Just an observation.

Innovative just hit the market, I think we all know no product is safe on this forum.

Yeah but a dyno posted so I thought it was game on :-).

In general, as an FR-S owner myself...

I would not attempt to scare away manufacturers by making the environment overly hostile. The more products on the market, the more ways I have to customize my vehicle.

Oh no i have nothing against the vortech, it has just been out the longest and is the most installed kit it seems around here.

The innovative kits performance is very close to this already, we have some work to do to build the top end up to the vortech level, and it might not even be possible.

I can see 225hp to 230hp might be possible.

you are talking about the kit making 9psi I believe. look at the original making
5psi which is close to what this kit is making.

Simply because innovate costs $3,600 including tune ($3,200 for the tuner kit) which i think is a fair price while vortech sells you a freaking fan with a pulley for like $5k! Vortech's kit could easily cost $3k all day but they mark it up like crazy and don't give me that "R&D cost" crap cuz that thing is the simplest of all FI (non electric) system out there.

My vortech install went fine.
I think some of the reviews on install are overly dramatic. How does it take such a long time in a shop with a lift when I was able to complete my install completely alone working 4-5 hours a day for 2 days taking my sweet time with only jackstands?

It could be done in a day easily if you start early and want it to be done in a day.

Some of the reviews just put people off from buying the kit because of a "worst case scenario" painted by a reviewer.

I just get the feeling that some people want to drag names through the mud for no other reason than to create drama. This is of no fault to the reviewer, as that is how they see things from their perspective. People just seem to linger on "bad" reviews and ignore all the good ones. I was going to document my install but realized I would just be wasting time taking pictures and going over what the manual went over instead, as it was straight-forward and simple to install.

I had an ecutek license and cable, so I spent around ~4200 on the kit and payed for the install with a sore back for a few days.

If you know your way around a wrench, you know what to expect in the vortech install if you read the install manual which is available online.

The hardest part for me was getting the sidemarkers off, followed by mounting the intercooler by myself with no one to help hold it/mark/drill the holes.

Interested to see more people running the electric supercharger!

Admittedly, Innovate is cheaper - but you can get the Vortech on sale with tune for around 4K-4.2K depending on rebates available.
