I do a change depending on how the car has been driven. I don't go by miles. Usually I never run over 3.5k miles on any of my cars even with synthetic.

Just like how tires are rated for 40k miles but are replaced at 20k due to burn outs. Wear n tear outweigh assumptions on how long something lasts for... Id also recommend changing your oil before/after an aggressive track day.

7500 miles between changes has been normal for cars for more than a decade...using regular oil too, not synthetic which lasts even longer. I always did mine around 5k anyway, but the manual clearly states 7500 for my '03 Acura.

Edit: And here I was thinking/feeling guilty about putting so many miles on my car. You guys are doing it right, I'm glad to see that two of you are damn near 30k. Furthermore, many of the owners are using their car, that's awesome.

Mine came with 5 on Feb 22nd. Now it has about 800. I love living ~1 mile from work.

8 months 23,300 then lemon lawed that one. New one, 1 month only 1300.

Not driving as much with the new car, got most of it out of my system with the first one.
