Nice I love going up for nights cruises but never had a chance when the sun was up. But that corner is unmistakeable

It might cost a little extra ($80) to get a tow hook mount but it is SO not worth drilling holes in your bumper. It totally ruins the lines of the the bumper having that plate mount bolted on there (in my opinion, of course, along with countless others.) Once you do it, you can't undo it. (Well, you can replace the bumper, but that's gonna really cost you!)
I'll save you the search:
here is the Perrin
and here is the Grimmspeed.
Take your pick!

Please, for the sake of any future owner of your car, DON'T DO IT!!
I used the Grimmspeed mount because I refuse to drill holes in my bumper, it looks cool, and Grimmspeed is a local company:

I had the same question you did and I talked to some folks and did some internet research. I wish we didn't have to put front plates on but in California, the cops are pretty unforgiving so I figured I shouldn't risk it. After looking around online, I ordered the Grimmspeed Plate Relocation kit for the FR-S and it should be delivered within a few days.

I've never relocated a plate before so i'll be going to youtube for instructions. Apparently it's not that difficult.

Here's someone showing us how they did it for their subie:

Link to purchase the FR-S kit:

I didn't have one on my Stealth, my RX-7, or my '07 Si. That's about 9 years of ownership. My father's been driving his Vette since 2000 without one with no problems.

I did get pulled over one time about it but it was a pretty half-hearted admonition to get one installed, one which I quickly ignored. I remember we did an informal survey of all the cars that passed over a 20 minute period (Southlake Blvd in DFW). Between 20% and 25% of the cars in this affluent area have no front plates. That's a significant number.

Just buy some black zip ties and zip tie the damn thing to the grill!

Sorry, I'm having an angry-coffee morning and I don't have my plates yet either.

Here's how I mounted my plate when I had my S2000 and plan on doing a similar thing when my plates come in for the FRS:

No offense but the majority of us do not want to zip tie our car like Honda owners tend to do.

Hmmmm, it kind of sucks that there are two mounting points left in that otherwise clean bumper Annoying.

Also please ignore cranky up here ^ above me with his zip-tie hate and car bigotry!

Looking down your nose at others. How delightfully pious of you.

And LOL at a Scion or Subaru owner looking down on Honda owners. Grow up.

p.s. "no offense" but I'm about to say something offensive but hey, it doesn't count because I said, "no offense" right?... please.

As mentioned in my previous post, I installed the Grimmspeed options. Just found this in the back of a magazine though:

http://www.altecproducts.com

Totally cool, but not yet made for our cars.

I just leave my plate on the dashboard of my car. I don't know if that's good enough to be considered legal in NY, but dealerships do it all the time for test drives and I see other sports cars do that without getting hassled.

I personally don't like the relocation kits because they just seem out of place to me. If I had to mount it, I would find a way to clip it onto the middle of the grill.

placing a loose metal plate in front of you isn't very wise when you get into an accident.

Couldn't agree more...those do nothing but make the plate stand out 100% more than if it was just mounted front and center...almost looks like a mini billboard stuck to the front of the bumper...

Not to mention it looks ridiculous having a license plate sitting on your dashboard...
