I think it's neat, actually. Part of the fun of owning the 86 is making it ours, something Toyota highly encourages in Japan. The Scion badges are interesting and different to them, the same way the Toyota badges are to us.

You know Japan loves US culture just as much as import car enthusiasts love anything JDM. It's human nature; want what you can't have.

Japanese guy dressed as a vato rocking a Mexican flag!

Ask and I shall Wikipedia it for you:

Quote:
A lowrider is a style of car originated by Chicano communities. Lowriders sit lower to the ground than most other cars. Many lowriders have their suspension systems modified (with hydraulic suspension) so that their ride can change height at the flip of a switch. Lowriders are commonly classic cars from the 1950s (when lowriding began). However, large numbers of 1940s and 1960s model cars are also modified; to a lesser degree newer vehicles are also modified. The word is also used to refer to those who drive or own such cars.

You're damn right son!!! Looks like I gotta find a buyer for my Scion airbag, wheel caps, floor mats, and key covers lol. Maybe someone will trade me tail lights!!! Woo!

But someone already said it, it's not stupid or weird. They (Japanese) want what they don't have. Where we want to return our vehicles to there intended glory, they want to be different. Makes sense.

At least now you all know what you can do with your old Scion badges! Hey, I've got a better idea, let's all just swap cars! I'll buy an FR-S and trade someone in Japan for an 86 GT Limited!

No mames guey!

Growing up in SoCal and seeing the Lowrider movement in Japan spread like wildfire is hilarious to me. So seeing a JDM GT86 converted to a FR-S doesn't surprise me one bit.

I like what I don't have, especially if it makes the car more my own and I think it looks better (headlights, corners, badges).

But honestly, I like USDM tail lights better than JDM.

Someone badge your FRS/BRZ as a Lexus, and call it the SC200
