Did this to my 86 today, with my own little twist on it. Safety and style, right?

I think that would be illegal since your third brake light must be above your tail lights.

Roughly how long does this mod take? Am I better paying someone to do it for me, if I am an electrical noob?

I just completed this mod yesterday and I must say, the rear foglight makes the car look very pretty and unique(I have yet to see another car with one). Reminds me of a Formula 1 car.
I didnt have to jack up the car though, I'm a small flexible dude so that pays off. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Just make sure you disconnect your battery first to avoid blowing a fuse. My one mistake was breaking the clip on the middle of the light assembly, I just couldnt figure out how to ply that thing open and accidentally broke it, oops.

my pleasure. I thought about these but i dont like them because then rust out with time and so does your wire inside the insulation. the way i did it, its all been resealed but your connector works amazing as well. the trailer pigtail that i got for my other car came with these. you also have to make sure that you get the right size!
