Did this to my 86 today, with my own little twist on it. Safety and style, right?

I like it.... but I'd disable the top center brake like.

I think that would be illegal since your third brake light must be above your tail lights.

Roughly how long does this mod take? Am I better paying someone to do it for me, if I am an electrical noob?

I just completed this mod yesterday and I must say, the rear foglight makes the car look very pretty and unique(I have yet to see another car with one). Reminds me of a Formula 1 car.

I didnt have to jack up the car though, I'm a small flexible dude so that pays off. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Just make sure you disconnect your battery first to avoid blowing a fuse.

My one mistake was breaking the clip on the middle of the light assembly, I just couldnt figure out how to ply that thing open and accidentally broke it, oops.

Multilock connectors

You could also use these connectors instead of having to strip the wire. A little less permanent, just in case you ever want/need to go back to stock. They're typically used in automotive applications too.

Molex Multi-Lock Connectors

Great write up though. You talked me into doing it. Thanks!

my pleasure.

I thought about these but i dont like them because then rust out with time and so does your wire inside the insulation. the way i did it, its all been resealed but your connector works amazing as well. the trailer pigtail that i got for my other car came with these. you also have to make sure that you get the right size!

REALLY like this. What bulb did you use? Did it have the flash built in, or did you wire that in separately? I'd really like to wire in one bulb with three wires so it does it all.
