This. I bought mine june 1st with 0 reflashes since right now getting new DI's from Japan's Manufacture with new software.

That's funny, I got my car the same day. So they did reflash your ecu when swapping out the injectors. Frs or brz?

I think this is his second set of injectors.

Sounds like the fix is making it's way into some of the EcuTek tuners roms:

this happen to me today
while John was tuning my car, my seals went bad
now i need to replace them at my own expense.

does anyone know how much the seals are and about how much a shop will chrge to get it fixed

or someone less scrupulous might try flashing back to stock and taking it into the dealer for warranty repair.

I would think he was using the latest rom with the fix in it.

It's possible that you experienced a different mode of failure. Since detonation seems to be what causes the failure (actually i would assume the breakdown of the boundary layer during the detonation event over heats the seals and causes them to melt is the root cause) is it possible your situation was not the same mode of failure the fix was designed to prevent?

Either way, to replace the seals you should also get the special tool so you don't damage the seals during installation. SST 09260-39020 is the scion / toyota tool number. I am attaching the manual section that details replacement.

I plan on picking up a full replacement kit soon to have on hand, but I suspect toyobaru will revise the seal part number to a higher temp tolerant part. I figure I will change them all out the first time i pull the manifold.
