Injector / seal failure or Miss-fire codes.. please post here

got my car back from the dealership and they CLAIM my ECU was out of date so they updated it. i dont think this fixed a damn thing and i told them that. Sooo next weekend i will be bringing the car back to the dealership

How can it be out of date? Was there a revised version in the US?

my car was bought this time last year so it was an early shipment. the dealer CLAIMS it was a recall and i should be getting a notice in the mail shortly about it mot sure i believe them completely

i also have some other codes besides the p0351. they are C1201 and C1241. not sure what they mean but i have them

Same with me, but only actual recall i've done is the ECM reprogramming coolant.

C1241: Low Battery Positive Voltage

C1201: Engine control system malfunction

p0351: Ignition coil

ive gotten P0351, dealer replaced my Damaged DI. 2 weeks later, I got the "Firecracker" noise again from the engine bay. My other DI crapped on me. I don't think they ever replaced my coilpacks though..

Ok, so you don't have to lift the engine out if you need to replace your coil packs, at least for cyl #1. If there are people that want me to, I can make a write-up as to how to accomplish this. Here is a picture of my old coil pack.



One of the engine bay with the ignition ecu and bracket removed (the removed assembly is sitting on top of my throttle body ish).



And a view of the coil pack locations. You can also see the fuel rail for bank 1.



All in all, about 45 minutes to replace a coil WITHOUT having to lift the engine out. Oh, and car starts

I did replace.

Unit cost: 109.95

Ultimately bought it from Subaru even though I have an FRS. Toyota wanted a considerable amount more.

I was getting firecrackers and p0351. After Toyota replaced my di seals, I was still getting p0351 codes. Little early to tell if it fixed the problem, but so far so good. There are no outwardly signs of failure. I will probably take apart the damaged coil to see what parts went bad. Sorry for broken sentences, not in front of my computer.
