Bat, did you get any super light smoke installed on these tails yet? Really hoping to.get the black eyelids and light some but want some pics first.. These tails are sensitive to vinyl meaning color and shade throws them off quick if not matched well.

Thanks!

Check his site for most recent pics, and he does have pics of a 2008 STi with light smoke. There shouldn't be much difference, they're both mostly clear housings.

Really, the only way you're going to know if it'll be to your liking is just get the vinyl and install it. Maybe he can get you a sample piece for cheap so you can throw it on and see if you like it before spending extra to have a pro wrap it on for you. If you end up liking it, then you can be the guy who sends in pics so others can see before buying.

It's not like a $2000 set of wheels we're talking about here.

I'm not a guinea pig for this vendor... If he wants to send a 50% off set to me i'll be glad to pay for install and take pics for members, but this guessing game of what it should look on our actual car like is not my style for purchasing products for this car... See Airaid intake and Beatsonic BRZ fin for examples as to why.

I'm not sure how those examples can relate to vinyl. If you don't like an overlay, you just rip it off and start over. Any residue left cleans off easily. Yes, it does cost something, but it's definitely not $100+.

I get that you don't want to be a guinea pig, but you've been asking for the same thing for...a while now. If no one else ever decides they want 3/10 smoke over clear lights, you'll never get to see a pic of it. Not trying to sound like a jerk, so I'm sorry if it comes off that way. It's just that he doesn't have a brz/frs "shop car" and can't try out every variation himself.

My car had several variations of the red which is why there are BRZ pics on his site now. It just so happens that I work 5 min from the installer and get along with him really well, so this was pretty easy to facilitate and I'm helping out friends.

A business like Bat's relies on people willing to try something new and send in pics so that others can have an idea what it looks like. I don't know if you've already asked, but I really think my idea of a sample piece is the way to go. It's a huge PITA to wrap these lights (that little fin in a killer) and I know he wouldn't want someone to be unhappy with the result and feel like they didn't get their moneys worth. Just send him a PM, can't hurt to ask.

Great points, but $$ is $$ and it should be up to the vendor to provide examples of his product... period point blank.. These guys get vinyl in bulk so material cost to display their product to show potential clients is close to nothing and also business 101.. I've made numerous requests to get this done because lets face it the tailights look like they are from 2002.

I dont feel like wasting anymore time and it seems like you are his personal spokesman on here.. Going to have to find someone local to take care of this..

To each his own, I guess. I'm nobody's spokesman, I just see you asking keep asking for this and no one else is submitting pics that you're wanting. Sorry to hear you're upset about this, I'm just trying to help with suggestions.

And yes, the stock tails are hideous! I honestly think the 3/10 is going to be too light, though. If you look at pics of a 2008-2010 wrx/sti, it barely looks like anything was done.

Are you seriously this ignorant? You go into a sports store and Nike doesn't display every color version of their latest shoes in every possible size are you going to demand that they send you a free pair? Because that's what you are asking of this vendor. Ridiculous only begins to describe your lack of 'business 101' education. Your numerous requests weren't for help - as you attempt to come off as - but more so an attempt to get cheap/free products as $38 is clearly too much for you to be spending at this time lol.

PS - I have Zero affiliation with the OP incase you think I am some sort of a 'spokesman' - as well - local places won't give you free stuff either especially when you roll in with your BRAND NEW CAR lol

Slow down cheetah... I've made a bunch of requests for these pics for weeks and have been brushed aside with "wait" "well have them on in a bit" "look at that other model and see" bla..bla..bla.. If these lights didn't annoy me so much I wouldn't care and wouldn't be littering up his thread so much, but he seems to have decent stuff at decent prices... If I pay for these, get them installed, then hate them, im out the $$. Why waste time when a simple picture could provide all potential customers an idea of what they are buying? Install of these isn't cheap and $100 is not pennies my Northerner friend.

If I see a picture and make that decision thats my bad, but to order on blind faith is Orthowlike, aka not my style.

Enjoy your Friday and those lime green Nike's.

I think alot of people think this is what I do for a living. I'm actually a teacher and artist by trade. The vinyl gig is just something I do on the side. It does require alot of time and dedication, and I do my best with my hectic work schedule, raising 2 young kids and paying my mortgage. I see your anxiousness in seeing some pics, and the fact you're intterested in my work, says alot. I've been doing this for 12 years now! I do have a gallery in my link titled "Comparison Pics" which shows the different tints on different cars.

As far as 2point0 is concerned, he is not a spokesperson for me, but rather someone that believes and supports what I do for the car scene. He had my overlays on his sti hatch years ago, and loved my work. For him to ask me to create overlays for his current ride says alot.

I'd like to work with so, so pm me your contact info, and lets works something out .
