avoided near serious accident with my FR-S
So I am leaving a friends house to head to my parents house last night to spend the night and spend some time with them today. It was about 11PM. Getting onto the 215 north from Van Buren in Riverside, CA. The entrance is at the top, and its a single lane. Little did I know there are 2 cars right in the center at the bottom, with the car at the front had no lights, and the car behind it had only its flashers on. But who the hell leaves there cars right there. Put your DAMN car in neutral and roll it to the side. Should only take 2 people to do this. So I am getting up to speed and I see the cars and I think to myself wholly crap these cars are not moving. I am guessing I am going 45-50MPH. Luckly I was able to dodge them by going to the right of them. I was haft freeway, haft loose crap(very edge of the road) The car held the road very well and I think my over reaction cause the car to move right to left for a few seconds before I was able to regain control. My FR-S might have saved my life last night. A lesser car like my old 2008 Jetta, not sure what would have happened
![]() About a few hundred feet, I pulled off to the side of the freeway with my flashers on because I was in complete shock. I was a little shaken a bit. Also if I would have tried to break, not sure I would have stop in time. ![]() I am mean really who leaves there cars there! Plus no one was in either car! Thank god for my FR-S and its superb handling at semi high speeds.

Glad ur ok!
Thats a huge prob in CA, people having accidents and sitting in place, sometimes stopping like u said in the middle of the freeway then proceeding to GET OUT of their car to yell/cry/etc and exchange info (still in the middle of the freeway)...people are dumb

Most folks are looking at/buying the FR-S for the performance, for me your story is exactly why I want one: avoiding accidents. There are so many idiots on the roads today plus deer. The FR-S is the first car to come along in a long time that put the advantage back to people who have the skills to drive.

Glad to hear you're safe man. I've had a few scares like that going from 60W to 215N to get to my house when I was at UCR.. that stupid freeway transition seems to have its fair share of idiots getting into accidents and blocking entire lanes after the two lanes become one...

I've taken that onramp before and I agree with you OP, I don't understand how those cars could just sit there and not move their cars over. Glad you're okay!
