Ah. Ok. I found a vid of someone using washers and then finishing the ARP install with this tool to see the whole process

Good info

EDIT: I did not install ARP studs. If there is something different about them, I could be wrong about the process working with them. Mine are Ichiba +5mm rear studs that I installed with the ball joint tool. Additionally, there is zero way to mess up the threads using the ball joint separator to install over the "washer method".
Stock +5mm would fit easily, the ARP's are significantly longer and definitely won't work without pulling the hub. Not sure if the NISMO ones will go in with the hub in place, I forget if they're longer than stock and if so how much longer.

And ARP does have stock length studs, if you want the strength of ARP's without the extended length. I just installed these on the rear (front will be soon) without pulling the hub.

When I replaced my stripped lug stud, I got the $3 Dorman lug bolt.
Got a replacement Dorman lug nut for $2 also.

Used the washers, bolt, ball joint puller, and electric impact to pull it.

Here’s how I got the lug stud pressed back on

I got a bunch of M12 and M14 washers at HD for $2.
I also got an M12x1.25 bolt for .50 cents.
Better to use the open nut than a closed lug nut.

I replaced all of the studs on FR-S on my own with ARP standard-length units without pulling the hubs and found it to be super easy. You have to remove the rotors, drive the old studs out with a mallet, put the the new studs in from behind the hub, and then use a steel open-ended lug nut and impact wrench set to a relatively low torque setting to pull the new studs into position. It took about 15 minutes per corner and can easily be done in your garage.
