Lack of
auto climate control, milage till empty, heated seats , Leather seats, Memory seat on the passengers side. satelite radio, Sound proofing, Arm rest , seat belt adjustment, glove box /storage space, power point, (who only plus in one thing? I have a 3 way splitter extension running behind my seat just to get power for my gps and satelite radio )
the seat belts snap restraints suck. and the sync on the bluetooth is finiky as hell on my android.

Actually the refreshingly button-free steering wheel is one of the things I love about this car

Forget the ballast in the trunk. The center of gravity of the 86 is designed to be low and close to the center of the car. Putting weight in the trunk will make the car less balanced, and more likely to lose control on a curve.
hi buddy!
even if that was true,if you get caught in a snow storm, you are traveling so slow, that taking corners at "faster" speeds will NOT be a concern anyway.
IF there is ANY additional traction to be had while driving in slippery conditions, then THIS car, being so fu**ing damn light in the first place, should
benefit as much as possible from "ballast" placed in the rear .even with "dedicated" snows,i can report for the record, that i have "zero" intentions on attempting to prove out a theory as to whether the car can play "snowmobile
or not!...just sayin'

Found a new pet peeve that I'll probably rectify with a Pioneer app radio.. The factory head unit sucks ass and doesn't play well with my iPhone or USB devices. When I pair my iPhone 5 (and previously 4S) via Bluetooth, I cannot scroll through the directory structure. When I use USB flash drives, the folder structure is screwed up beyond all belief..

No option for leather interior
No option for different wheels
No option for spoiler

and the smell of "engine compartment" that creeps through the vents when defrost or ac is on.

The first three I had to accept. The 4th remains a mystery that i hope one day will rectify itself.the smell is like paint or plating burning off,but i have 2500k on it now.I figure that would be gone by now

Other than that the car has performed beyond my expectations.

The thing I miss most is dual zone climate control. My wife is always cold! I am normally warm.

I've said this already in this thread but it bugs me enough I feel like saying it again. This car screams to be a hatchback. I'm guessing because Toyota plans on bringing out a convertible in 2014 the present design will make the change-over easier/cheaper for them.

I have a contigo coffee cup and you can literally turn it upside down and shake it as hard as you can and it won't spill a drop. If you don't like the cup holders or spilling in your car, get one, they are amazing.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that they originally designed it as a hatchback, and then ditched the idea because it compromised the structure too much for what they wanted to do.

Look at the other small sports coupes (not "sporty coupes," Civic Si, etc) that have come out in the past 10 years, name any that have been successful that have been hatchbacks. RX-8, Miata, S2000, MR2, Genesis/Tiburon are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. All non-hatchback.
