I'd also like to see pics of the damage and especially the top of the shaft and bolt. There may have been an unknown preexisting problem (crossthreaded, overtightened, material flaw, etc) that the impact was simply enough to put the last nail in the coffin. Even a really hard impact wouldn't put any lateral load on that bolt to shear it unless you were braking hard or cornering hard when it happened. I'm not accusing anyone of anything, it justseems like a very rare type of failure.

Your story sounded scary indeed. Good thing you're okay and it could've been worse.

I want FA's and your problem is def interesting and it will for sure raise some eyebrows in a bad way. But I think it would be unfair to quickly blame and pigeon hole a company for making faulty coilovers. Broken coilovers and struts has happened to Tein, Buddyclub, HKS, even oem quality Bilstein and many other brands if you do a google search. But, I hope they can pinpoint the exact problem and prove it was just a rare defective part.

Wow, as others have said, in for pics.

And for those now "questioning" FA, I wouldn't. Failure can happen on any coilover/part, and even after hearing this I would have no issue with FA co's on my car.

Whats scary to me is how many people are driving around on ultra-cheap/pos chinese coilovers...

Yea, I highly doubt this is a common problem. This seems very unusual.

In no way can I provide a professional assessment. Im merely stating what has happened. I'll be very interested on hearing their assessment once they are delivered. Im going to send out the passenger side out as aswell for inspection.

That is a nasty failure. In no instance should a suspension kit fail that badly. Even if you ran over a curb (worse than a pothole), the suspension should be robust enough to take it and not fail catastrophically.

Hope FA will get to the bottom of this. Looking to hear about how this kit failed.

If suspension were to fail that easily, I'd be dead a million times now. I've had to deal with some pretty subpar roads not only around here but in good ol' Cleveland and Boston... I'm really glad you were able to stay safe, hopefully it was just a freak incident! But definitely pictures please

Wow! Sounds scary as hell. Glad you are ok. In for pics.

Also good on you for not flying into an Internet rage and vendor bashing. There is so much of that on here.

Though he should probably edit the title if he wants to be completely objective and PC.
